Crocodile snapping turtles have a place with the sort Macrochelys, which was as of late isolated into three separate species: the first species, Macrochelys temminckii, and now additionally M. suwannensis and M. apalachicolae, named after the Suwannee and Apalachicola Rivers where they live.
