L'objectif de ce travail est l'étude, à la fois théorique et expérimental, du frottement à l'interface d'un contact élastique en roulement ou glissement (fretting). Pour un contact normalement chargé, le frottement représente une perte d'énergie produite par deux facteurs: le microglissement à l'interface du contact et l'hystérésis élastique. Afin d'évaluer le frottement induit par les microglissements, un modèle analytique a été développé prenant en compte les déplacements élastiques de la surface de contact. Le champ des contraintes à l'interface a été calculé dans les cas du contact en roulement et en condition de fretting. En supposant la contrainte équivalent Huber-Mises- Hencky responsable pour l'endommagement de la surface du contact, elle a été calculée numériquement dans tous les points du contact. La deuxième source de frottement, les pertes d'énergie par hystérésis, ont été étudiés à travers des essais d'impact, prenant en compte leur dépendance linéaire avec le volume déformé du matériau. Les résultats théoriques ont été validés par comparaison avec des recherches existantes dans la bibliographie et des essais expérimentaux propre.
