Complex Analytic Cycles I

Complex Analytic Cycles I PDF Author: Daniel Barlet
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3030311635
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 545

Book Description
The book consists of a presentation from scratch of cycle space methodology in complex geometry. Applications in various contexts are given. A significant portion of the book is devoted to material which is important in the general area of complex analysis. In this regard, a geometric approach is used to obtain fundamental results such as the local parameterization theorem, Lelong' s Theorem and Remmert's direct image theorem. Methods involving cycle spaces have been used in complex geometry for some forty years. The purpose of the book is to systematically explain these methods in a way which is accessible to graduate students in mathematics as well as to research mathematicians. After the background material which is presented in the initial chapters, families of cycles are treated in the last most important part of the book. Their topological aspects are developed in a systematic way and some basic, important applications of analytic families of cycles are given. The construction of the cycle space as a complex space, along with numerous important applications, is given in the second volume. The present book is a translation of the French version that was published in 2014 by the French Mathematical Society.

Carleman’s Formulas in Complex Analysis

Carleman’s Formulas in Complex Analysis PDF Author: L.A. Aizenberg
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9401115966
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 317

Book Description
Integral representations of holomorphic functions play an important part in the classical theory of functions of one complex variable and in multidimensional com plex analysis (in the later case, alongside with integration over the whole boundary aD of a domain D we frequently encounter integration over the Shilov boundary 5 = S(D)). They solve the classical problem of recovering at the points of a do main D a holomorphic function that is sufficiently well-behaved when approaching the boundary aD, from its values on aD or on S. Alongside with this classical problem, it is possible and natural to consider the following one: to recover the holomorphic function in D from its values on some set MeaD not containing S. Of course, M is to be a set of uniqueness for the class of holomorphic functions under consideration (for example, for the functions continuous in D or belonging to the Hardy class HP(D), p ~ 1).

Nonlinear Time Series Analysis of Business Cycles

Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 461

Book Description

Life Cycle Analysis and Assessment in Civil Engineering: Towards an Integrated Vision

Life Cycle Analysis and Assessment in Civil Engineering: Towards an Integrated Vision PDF Author: Robby Caspeele
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1351857568
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 5111

Book Description
This volume contains the papers presented at IALCCE2018, the Sixth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE2018), held in Ghent, Belgium, October 28-31, 2018. It consists of a book of extended abstracts and a USB device with full papers including the Fazlur R. Khan lecture, 8 keynote lectures, and 390 technical papers from all over the world. Contributions relate to design, inspection, assessment, maintenance or optimization in the framework of life-cycle analysis of civil engineering structures and infrastructure systems. Life-cycle aspects that are developed and discussed range from structural safety and durability to sustainability, serviceability, robustness and resilience. Applications relate to buildings, bridges and viaducts, highways and runways, tunnels and underground structures, off-shore and marine structures, dams and hydraulic structures, prefabricated design, infrastructure systems, etc. During the IALCCE2018 conference a particular focus is put on the cross-fertilization between different sub-areas of expertise and the development of an overall vision for life-cycle analysis in civil engineering. The aim of the editors is to provide a valuable source of cutting edge information for anyone interested in life-cycle analysis and assessment in civil engineering, including researchers, practising engineers, consultants, contractors, decision makers and representatives from local authorities.

Engineering Economics of Life Cycle Cost Analysis

Engineering Economics of Life Cycle Cost Analysis PDF Author: John Vail Farr
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1000894819
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 412

Book Description
The rise of the information age and the digital economy has dramatically changed engineering and other technology-driven fields. With tremendous advances in computing and communication systems, major organizational upheavals, all fueled by complexity, globalization, short cycle times, and lean supply chains, the functions of engineers have significantly changed. Engineers and similar professionals must be technically savvy and have product management and costing skills all while working in a distributed and often unstable environment. This new-edition textbook is updated to cover the integration of cost, risk, value, scheduling, and informationtechnologies going beyond basic engineering economics. Engineering Economics of Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Second Edition, offers a systems and life cycle or total ownership cost perspective. It presents advanced costing techniques such as simulation-based costing, decision and risk analysis, complex systemscosting, software, big data, and cloud computing estimation. Examples and problems demonstrating these techniques with real-world applications are also included. All engineers and similar professionals will find this book useful, but it is mainly written for systems engineers, engineering managers, program/product managers, and industrial engineers. The text can serve as a professional reference or for use with graduate courses on advanced engineering economic analysis and cost management, and financial analysis for engineers.

Le Cycles and Hypersurface Singularities

Le Cycles and Hypersurface Singularities PDF Author: David Massey
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3540455213
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 141

Book Description
This book describes and gives applications of an important new tool in the study of complex analytic hypersurface singularities: the Lê cycles of the hypersurface. The Lê cycles and their multiplicities - the Lê numbers - provide effectively calculable data which generalizes the Milnor number of an isolated singularity to the case of singularities of arbitrary dimension. The Lê numbers control many topological and geometric properties of such non-isolated hypersurface singularities. This book is intended for graduate students and researchers interested in complex analytic singularities.

Analysis within the Systems Development Life-Cycle

Analysis within the Systems Development Life-Cycle PDF Author: Rosemary Rock-Evans
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483140415
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 393

Book Description
Analysis within the Systems Development Life-Cycle: Book 1, Data Analysis—The Deliverables provides a comprehensive treatment of data analysis within the systems development life-cycle and all the deliverables that need to be collected in analysis. The purpose of deliverables is explained and a number of alternative ways of collecting them are discussed. This book is comprised of five chapters and begins with an overview of what ""analysis"" actually means, with particular reference to tasks such as hardware planning and software evaluation and where they fit into the overall cycle. The next chapter introduces the main concepts that will be used throughout the rest of the book, along with the main diagrammatic techniques that will be used to represent the deliverables. The discussion then turns to important categories of concept; what facts to collect about entity types; what facts to collect about attribute types; and the deliverables of the data design part of the systems development cycle. The final chapter summarizes all the deliverables and puts them into the context of the systems development cycle by describing the ""systems engine""—the ""meta-model"" of the systems development life-cycle. This monograph will be of interest to systems analysts and designers.

Safety Analysis and Licensing Documentation for Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities

Safety Analysis and Licensing Documentation for Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities PDF Author: IAEA
Publisher: International Atomic Energy Agency
ISBN: 9201067224
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 139

Book Description
This publication gives practical information and examples of safety analysis principles and methods as well as the contents of licensing documentation needed to support application of IAEA safety standards to nuclear fuel cycle facilities. A systematic methodology is presented, covering the establishment of acceptance criteria, hazard evaluation, identification of postulated initiating events, analysis of accident sequences and consequences.
