The first letter, dated Nov. 8, 1830 is addressed to Thomas Bolton, president of the Phoenix Fire Insurance Company, and regards the company's failure to pay on a claim made by John Fr. Lawrence for a building in New York City which burned on Oct. 5, 1829. The second letter, dated June 26, 1832, is addressed to Chief Justice Jones and calls Jones' attention to the bond and mortgage of a Mr. Hunter.
