Abstract: Various educational resources on preventive dental care for mothers and children, and on baby bottle tooth decay are cited in this bibliography from the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Oral Health Subcommittee. Resource materials are categorized into 1) pamphlets, brochures, and booklets (federal agencies, state and local agencies, private organizations), 2) posters, and 3) audiovisuals. A brief content summary, and cost and ordering information are provided in each description. Resources were reviewed for technical accuracy, appropriateness for audience, completeness, terminology, and quality of graphics; each is coded for reading level and target audience. More than 60 research articles on baby bottle tooth decay that appeared in recent scientific journals published in the U.S. are also cited. Resource and reference lists were compiled as part of the Dental Disease Prevention Activity conducted by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.
