Book Description
A handwritten folded stampless blue lettersheet, with remnant of wax seal, and orange-red postage rate (5) and circular date inkstamps, from Hannah to her cousin Caroline. Within the space of a single paragraph towards the end of the letter, she reports: "I went to a lecture the other evening by O.S. Fowler the celebrated Phrenologist, very interesting, I assure you. He is going to deliver one or two more, and won't I have a good time? O, I have thought of some very interesting news. I have got a new dress and am going to have a new satin bonnet next week. My dress is green and I have a sack like it, so when you see anything green coming you may know it is I." ["I" is written over "me"].
