El motivo principal que dio origen a este trabajo fue desarrollar indicadores adicionales a la Administración de Proyectos mediante la integración de técnicas de manejo del dinero a través del tiempo (Ingeniería Económica). Las técnicas de redes tales como el PERT y el CPM son procedimientos populares en la programación de proyectos utilizadas para obtener programas que ayuden al administrador en obtener una secuencia de tiempo factible en las actividades del proyecto. Sin embargo, la aplicación de técnicas de redes para minimizar el costo del proyecto o maximizar el valor del proyecto, excepto para la limitada consideración del balance entre el tiempo y el costo, ha sido casi completamente ignorada. LPueden otros indicadores económicos ayudarnos a administrar los proyectos acorde a las necesidades del nuevo milenio? Alrededor de esta pregunta se desprende la investigación, para ello se desarrolló una encuesta de tipo exploratorio que se aplico a diversos coordinadores de proyectos en el ámbito nacional. Los resultados derivados de la aplicación de la encuesta indican que existe una baja utilización de las técnicas existentes de Administración de Proyectos, mismas que se requieren para el desarrollo de indicadores adicionales. Sin embargo, los coordinadores consideran necesaria la inclusión de técnicas de Evaluación de Proyectos en las etapas de Planeación, Programación y Control para tener una perspectiva adicional en la Administración de Proyectos. Considerando los resultados de la encuesta se emiten recomendaciones para incrementar el uso de las técnicas existentes; además se propone una metodología para considerar la integración de la Evaluación con la Administración de Proyectos, así como también para considerar indicadores adicionales. Se presentan una serie de observaciones y recomendaciones importantes sobre la metodología propuesta; finalmente la investigación se complementa con una descripción de diversas técnicas de Administración de Proyectos.
