Programa de la cuenca del Río Tijuana comenzó con el desarrollo de un sistema de información geográfica (GIS, por sus siglas en inglés) de la cuenca en 1994 y ha hecho posible la ejecución de más de una docena de proyectos, la mayoría binacionales y enfocados en problemas en la calidad y cantidad de agua.
