Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-An Inquiry Concerning Human Understanding, is a book by the Scottish empiricist philosopher, David Hume, which he published in 1748. This book contains revisions of the main points of the book Treatise on Human Nature also works by David Hume (although published anonymously in London between 1739-1740). Hume was demoralized by the poor reception of the Treaty, which in his words "was born dead from the printing press", and therefore tried again to spread his ideas to the public and for this he wrote a shorter and more controversial book. The result of their efforts was Research. In the Investigation it eliminated much of the material of the Treaty, to clarify and emphasize its most important aspects. For example, Hume's views on personal identity have been removed.However, other more important propositions, such as Hume's stance regarding the role of habit for a theory of knowledge, were preserved. This book has had a great influence, both at the time of publication and today. Immanuel Kant identifies him as the book that woke him from his self-styled "dogmatic dream." Research is widely considered a classic in modern philosophical literature.
