Tn this act we by no means wish our friends to infer that we are treading, or intend to tread, upon political ground. The engraving is given in obedience to the desire which is manifested among the great body of the people to possess works of this character; and in obedience to this desire, we intend hereafter, should the Journal be sustained, to embellish it in this manner. Mr. Wright has now attained that period of life when the judgment and intellect have reached the highest stage of development - when the physical, intellectual and moral man, sustain and invigorate each other - when the hand to execute is strong and unfaultering - the capacity to devise the greatest, and that of doing good, the widest.
