Book Description
Excerpt from A. Green and Co. 'S Directory for Liverpool and Birkenhead, 1870 IN introducing this our first edition to our friends, subscribers, and the public, we must express surprise, that, while so many towns in England have enjoyed the advantage Of cheap Directories, Liverpool, one Of the most important, has been overlooked. We, therefore, have compiled and published this at a price to bring it within the reach Of all, and sincerely hope that our work will be found to contain everything that is essential in a Directory, and that it will answer the same purpose as a more ponderous and costly publication. In presenting a Work of this magnitude to the public, it would Of course be impossible to present it faultless, but from the care and diligence with which it has been compiled, we trust the errors will be found exceptionally few. Next year we shall annex a Street Directory, Annals of the Town, a Map, and other information calculated to be useful. We proffer our thanks to all for the kindness shown to us, and trust that our subscribers will feel satisfied with our efforts and by recommending our work to their friends, aid us in carrying out so beneficial an Object. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.
