David Faulkenberry and his son Jacob moved from Lancaster County, South Carolina to Clarke County, Georgia to participate in the 1805 Georgia land lottery. Thomas J. (or P.) Faulkenberry (1808-1876) was a son of Jacob and grandson of David, born in Georgia. Thomas moved to Rutherford County, Tennessee, and married Martha S. Wright in 1834. They moved about 1836 to Lone Jack, Jackson County, Missouri (they travelled to Texas in 1844, but did not like the country and returned to Lone Jack). Descendants and relatives lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Kansas, Wyoming, Montana, California and elsewhere.
