A GENERAL FAMILY OF ESTIMATORS FOR ESTIMATING POPULATION MEAN USING KNOWN VALUE OF SOME POPULATION PARAMETER(S)

A GENERAL FAMILY OF ESTIMATORS FOR ESTIMATING POPULATION MEAN USING KNOWN VALUE OF SOME POPULATION PARAMETER(S) PDF Author: M. Khoshnevisan
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 12

Book Description
A general family of estimators for estimating the population mean of the variable under study, which make use of known value of certain population parameter(s), is proposed. Under Simple Random Sampling Without Replacement (SRSWOR) scheme, the expressions of bias and mean squared error (MSE) up to first order of approximation are derived. Some well known estimators have been shown as particular member of this family.

Estimation of Mean in Presence of Non Response Using Exponential Estimator

Estimation of Mean in Presence of Non Response Using Exponential Estimator PDF Author: Rajesh Singh
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 11

Book Description
This paper considers the problem of estimating the population mean using information on auxiliary variable in presence of non response. Exponential ratio and exponential product type estimators have been suggested and their properties are studied. An empirical study is carried out to support the theoretical results.

Book Description
In this paper we have suggested difference-type estimator for estimation of population mean of the study variable y in the presence of measurement error using auxiliary information.

Pages : 9

Book Description
In this chapter, we have suggested an improved estimator for estimating the population mean in stratified sampling in presence of auxiliary information. The mean square error (MSE) of the proposed estimator have been derived under large sample approximation.

Improvement in Estimating Population Mean using Two Auxiliary Variables in Two-Phase Sampling

Improvement in Estimating Population Mean using Two Auxiliary Variables in Two-Phase Sampling PDF Author: Rajesh Singh
Publisher: Infinite Study
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 11

Book Description
This study proposes improved chain-ratio type estimator for estimating population mean using some known values of population parameter(s) of the second auxiliary character. The proposed estimators have been compared with two-phase ratio estimator and some other chain ratio type estimators. The performances of the proposed estimators have been supported with a numerical illustration.

Role of Auxiliary Information in Estimation of Population Mean

Role of Auxiliary Information in Estimation of Population Mean PDF Author: Manish Sharma

Book Description
In survey sampling we are often concerned with the estimation of population parameters with the use of auxiliary information, which may be available (or made available by diverting a part of the resources) in one form or the other. If used properly, this information may provide better estimates than those where such information is not used. In this context improved classes of estimators of population mean with the use of auxiliary information, improved ratio and product type of estimators have been developed for estimation of population mean of study variable .The families of estimators of mean have been proposed for various situations of auxiliary characters such as when variance is known and population mean unknown, when variance is unknown and population mean known and neither population mean nor variance is known. Further various classes of improved ratio type estimators and product type estimators have been developed. The large sample properties of the proposed estimators of mean, ratio and product type estimators have been compared with conventional and other estimators through empirical study for different sample sizes.
