Few graduating residents are ready for the demands of subspecialty neuroradiology. This is in part because there remain gaps in the educational literature prior to fellowship. Subspecialty practice requires familiarity with exams and procedures that residents rarely encounter. Neuroimaging is frequently both high complexity and high acuity.
