X-ray spectra from CH2 laser-generated at 10 to the 16th power W/Sq cm are compared with those obtained using a 2D-mhd code. Good agreement is found over 7 orders of magnitude for X-ray energies comprised between 1 and 300 keV. It is found that the hard X-ray spectrum is compatible with the generation of B-fields in the interaction region. Variation of the numerical results with initial conditions, ion mass, laser energy deposition and grid size is investigated. (Author).
