Why You Should Celebrate Christmas

Why You Should Celebrate Christmas PDF Author: Cornerstone Godwin
Publisher: Independently Published
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 0

Book Description
Whether or not you're reading this book before, during, or after a Christmas Season, I wish you a merry Christmas - in advance or balance - as the case may be. I'll be quick to add that you read it with an open mind, for only then will you understand why we celebrate Christmas and why you should also partake in this globally celebrated but lowly calibrated celebration. While this book is specifically to enlighten those who oppose the celebration of this all-important season; those who have no qualms about celebrating it but don't celebrate it, as well as those who celebrate it will equally find it a veritable resource of knowledge. Therefore, this book is for everyone: First of all, and most importantly, those who oppose the celebration of Christmas! Second. It's for those who have no problems with the celebration but don't celebrate it. This class of people are those I call, the "Neutrals". They're not against the celebration and don't celebrate it. And thirdly, those who celebrate it. In this category, however, I find two sub-categories: those who celebrate Christmas with understanding and those who celebrate it without understanding its significance. Thus, this book is for everyone who desires to learn more and to know more about Christmas. To achieve my aim of effectively reaching everyone in the three groups and sub-groups without erecting religious walls or creating cultural cum traditional biases, I consciously avoided positions and explanations that have strong religious connotations. Rather, I focused on logical perspectives and reasoning to adduce my points. I'm deliberate in doing this so as not to sound religious at all. I took the path of appealing to sound reasoning and logical thinking, which everyone, including irreligious folks, can appreciate and identify with. For instance, I wrote in Chapter 1 that, far beyond the decorations of twinkling lights, cards, gifts, and carols; Christmas has a spiritual dimension only very few folks are privy to. I contended in Chapter 2 that the focus shouldn't be on the season alone but also on the reason - the Reason for the Season: Jesus. He's the Reason for the Season. To ignore or underrate Him and what He represents in our celebrations is to lose the spiritual favor and savor Christmas should afford. In Chapter 3, I challenged the opposition to the celebration of Christmas based on the correctness of the 25th December globally celebrated date. My contention on the correctness of the date is that ATTITUDE shouldn't be sacrificed on the slaughter slap of EXACTITUDE. Our attitude to, and during the Christmas celebration is more important than the exactitude of the date of the celebration. In challenging the opposition against Christmas based on its pagan origin in chapter 4, I posited that ORIGIN doesn't determine ORIGINALITY. The iniquitous patterns of incest, murder, and adultery in the family line of Jesus should have disqualified Him from being the Messiah - if origin were the determining factor in one's life. Even His low profile birth in the manger should have equally tainted His originality but that wasn't the case. My position in Chapter 5 is that Christmas being the birthday of Jesus Christ is worth celebrating. Since Jesus - as a person - is worth celebrating; Christmas - His birthday - is equally worth celebrating. I esteem it to be an act of wisdom to celebrate a person of a lofty pedigree and high spiritual profile like Jesus. In Chapter 6, I gave a prescription as to how best to celebrate Christmas. To me, the celebration of Christmas is a must! But it must be a worthy and godly Christmas celebration focused on virtues such as consecration more than on the celebration; on spirituality instead of just the festivity. The book will make a good read if you read it to learn more about Christmas and not just to criticize it. Enjoy a happy reading experience.

He came with a long-lasting solution that will satisfy your heart yearnings - Salvation of your soul. Amidst our traditions and celebrations, the reason for the season has begun to lose its value as time passes by. For many, Christmas is a time to spend time with loved ones, friends, and family. For some, it is a time of giving and receiving many gifts. While for others, it is a time for home decoration with ornaments and lights. Why do we celebrate Christmas? Christmas celebration exceeds dining and wining alone, enjoying with loved ones, or placing Christmas trees in homes, it is a time we remember and appreciate the love of Christ to humanity. It is a time when we thank God for his amazing plan to redeem mankind. Jesus Christ is the reason for the season, He is the reason for Christmas! From John 3: 16, we have: 16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The love of God surpasses that of man in that He, through His infinite love and wisdom, thought it good to send Jesus to this world of sin, so that we might have eternal life! Christmas is a time we commemorate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, through which we now have the joy of salvation. He came to this world to redeem mankind. We were, as it were, on our way to eternal destruction and damnation before Jesus came. However, through His sacrifices, we have the opportunity to be reconciled to God. He came for our redemption and we should be completely grateful to God for this wonderful day. This book: 'Christmas is all about Jesus' is recommended to everyone who wants to know the reason for Christmas, and appreciate God for the gift He has given us so we might have everlasting life. We will discuss the following: The creation of man The Fall of Man The plan of redemption Prophecies concerning the birth of Jesus Christ and their fulfillment, and The reason for the season - which is Jesus Christ. Each chapter is well structured with appropriate Bible verses to ease your understanding of the concept, help you have a better understanding of Christmas and you will appreciate God the more for His great plan to redeem the human race. As you read through every chapter of this book, may you derive the joy, and peace that came with the Birth of Jesus Christ, and may Christ Jesus come into your life. Amen. Book Description
"Why We Celebrate Christmas" emerges as a beacon of light in a world increasingly dimmed by secularism and commercialism, reviving the profound spiritual significance of this beloved holiday. The book insightfully examines the societal shift from the traditional 'Christmas break' to more neutral terms like 'winter vacation, ' a change indicative of the growing neglect of the holiday's religious essence. At its core, the book is a passionate reclamation of Christmas as a celebration of Jesus Christ's birth. It vividly emphasizes the themes of hope, love, and redemption, intertwining these elements with the purpose of evangelism. The author challenges the misconceptions that align Christmas with pagan rituals, firmly reasserting the holiday's true significance as a commemoration of God's ultimate sacrifice for humanity's salvation. Drawing from a rich tapestry of personal experiences and observations, including the resurgence of the phrase 'Merry Christmas' in contemporary society, the author advocates for a renewed understanding and appreciation of Christmas. The narrative invites readers to reflect on the scriptural verses like Isaiah 9:6, underscoring the promise and peace that Christmas brings. This book is not just a historical or theological exposition but a call to action, urging readers to embrace the holiday's true meaning. It is an essential read for anyone seeking to reconnect with the spiritual roots of Christmas, and a guide for using the celebration of Jesus' birth as a powerful tool for spreading the message of salvation.
