Book Description
About the Book The inspiration of Church Fathers, Church Councils, and the Roman Church was to impose a Church order. The Church Order resolved to bring separation between “oppressive Judaism” and the Grace of the Risen Lord. Examination of the history of the established Church and of the scriptural intent of the I AM on current established theology does not support this pretense. The promises of Yehovah were for those who descended from Abraham, and those who chose to become his heirs according to the covenants made with them. Is the current teaching of the Church in accord with the six covenants, or were those covenants alleviated? Is the I AM the same yesterday, today, and forever? Did He change His mind? Or is there a plan laid out in Scripture that we have ignored, altered, or misunderstood. About the Author The Rev. Dr. Lawrence Olin Watt studied at Ottawa University (1969-1973, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1973 and 2017-2020), Central Baptist Theological Seminary (1974-1979), Central Michigan University (1992-1994), and the University of Phoenix (2005-2013). He has been a pastor in Churches in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Maryland. He was a Special Education Administrator in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He worked with emotionally challenged teenage boys in the Juvenile Justice Systems in Porter County, Indiana and Newaygo County Michigan. Dr. Watt was on the Board of Directors for a support group assisting survivors of Suicide. Dr. Watt and his wife Keli have six adult children and a plethora of foster children. Dr. Watt is currently retired from the school and Juvenile Justice systems. He Continues to serve as Pastor of Central Seventh Day Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. In his spare time, Dr. Watt works (plays) with his four Mopar Hemis. He enjoys driving them across the United States and Canada.

All this is unfolding in the historical epochs during the time of man’s faith, imperialism, nationalism, and of course, democracy.

The Innocence of Pontius Pilate

The Innocence of Pontius Pilate PDF Author: David Lloyd Dusenbury
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0197644120
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 261

Book Description
The gospels and ancient historians agree: Jesus was sentenced to death by Pontius Pilate, the Roman imperial prefect in Jerusalem. To this day, Christians of all churches confess that Jesus died 'under Pontius Pilate'. But what exactly does that mean? Within decades of Jesus' death, Christians began suggesting that it was the Judaean authorities who had crucified Jesus--a notion later echoed in the Qur'an. In the third century, one philosopher raised the notion that, although Pilate had condemned Jesus, he'd done so justly; this idea survives in one of the main strands of modern New Testament criticism. So what is the truth of the matter? And what is the history of that truth? David Lloyd Dusenbury reveals Pilate's 'innocence' as not only a neglected theological question, but a recurring theme in the history of European political thought. He argues that Jesus' interrogation by Pilate, and Augustine of Hippo's North African sermon on that trial, led to the concept of secularity and the logic of tolerance emerging in early modern Europe. Without the Roman trial of Jesus, and the arguments over Pilate's innocence, the history of empire--from the first century to the twenty-first--would have been radically different.

By What Authority

By What Authority PDF Author: Steven D. Miles
Publisher: Xulon Press
ISBN: 1619045281
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 246

Book Description
After being tempted by the devil in the wilderness, Jesus came out of that wilderness with a driving purpose-to destroy the devil's work. (1 John 3:8) Jesus locked horns with religious leaders who believed that they were working for God. These religious leaders confronted Jesus with a two-part question Jesus never answered. "By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?" This question is still awaiting an answer and zeros in on a theme that resonates through the ages. It is the question that will ultimately lead the world to Armageddon.

SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY: What's it Really all about?

SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY: What's it Really all about? PDF Author: Ralph Good
Publisher: Outskirts Press
ISBN: 1478779195
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 148

Book Description
If we do not know the responsibilities and boundaries of Spiritual Authorities, how can we possibly know if those who represent themselves as authorities in our lives are expressing God’s authority, or authority scripture attributes to Satan, the Devil, the Beast and the Kingdom of Darkness, as the same Greek is used to define all of them, but sometimes it is translated differently! Romans 13:1,2 tells us, “all authority is of God and has been established by God, whoever resists them resists what God has established and brings judgment on themselves.” So, why did we teach our children in our Sunday Schools to model their lives after the great heroes of the Christian Faith who openly defied the authorities God placed in their lives and faced judgment? True Spiritual Authority will never lead anyone to violate the First Command, separating them from God, leading to their ultimate destruction. That’s what the Serpent did to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden!

By What Authority?

By What Authority? PDF Author: Mark Shea
Publisher: Ignatius Press
ISBN: 1586177826
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 207

Book Description
In this newly updated, expanded version of his popular work of apologetics, Shea presents a lively and entertaining look at his conversion to Catholicism from Evangelicalism and his discovery of Christian tradition. As an Evangelical, Shea accepted the principle of "sola scriptura" (Scripture alone) as the basis of faith. Now as a Catholic convert, he skillfully explains how and why Sacred Tradition occupies a central role in Divine Revelation. Tracing his own journey of intellectual and spiritual awakening, Shea begins by looking for a rejoinder to those modern-day false prophets who would claim that Scripture itself is not to be trusted, and ends with his conviction that tradition, as explained by the Catholic Church, is the only sure guarantee of the truth of the revelation of Jesus Christ. By What Authority?

By What Authority? PDF Author: Hugh J. Schonfield
Publisher: Texianer Verlag
ISBN:
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 170

Book Description
This book would be well worth reading as a survey of human progress towards World Order from the Code of the Hammurabi to the concept of International Law, as an outline of governmental institutions from the Roman Empire to the United Nations, as an objective consideration of universal programmes as diverse as Functional Federalism and State Shintoism. But the book is even more worth reading as a masterly analysis of current problems and principles, spiritual, political and scientific, which affect mankind in its quest for harmony and unity. But the reason why this book must be read by everyone concerned for the issues of War or Peace is because it makes a major contribution towards the solution of our international difficulties. The author gives here not only an answer – but perhaps The Answer – to the great question of our time. This book has something to tell which is NEWS, real and thrilling news, which thousands the world over will want to hear about and discuss. An enterprise has been begun – not just contemplated or proposed – which none of the Governments could have undertaken and which, in its fruition, can transform the international situation. The unexpectedness of the new agency may arouse controversy and even criticism in some quarters but by most it will be warmly and thankfully welcomed.
