Book Description
This book is the result of some 40 years of teaching adult Sunday School classes. The format, inspired by the writings of Thomas Aquinas, evolved while working with Senior Adults. They were dedicated to the Sunday School process both in their attendance and in study preparations for the class. Many of them had difficulty reading the scriptures from their Bibles so I began to type the text in a 14, bold font so they could participate in the teaching process. When some missed classes due to illness or other events, they would often get discouraged about not having been there. That is when I began to print out the lessons each week as they were to be taught. Following that, the homebound came into play and requested copies of lessons because attending members had lent them theirs. Members began to send copies to their friends, neighbors and relatives. One of the extended recipients participated in a Jail ministry in her home church and began forwarding her copies to her inmate. After the jailers read the lessons, they were passed on to the inmate who then shared them with her cell block. From there, her lesson was mailed to her Aunt. God was getting a lot of mileage out of each of His lessons!
Leading a Worthy Life

Book Description
Most American young people, like their ancestors, harbor desires for a worthy life: a life of meaning, a life that makes sense. But they are increasingly confused about what such a life might look like, and how they might, in the present age, be able to live one. With a once confident culture no longer offering authoritative guidance, the young are now at sea—regarding work, family, religion, and civic identity. The true, the good, and the beautiful have few defenders, and the higher cynicism mocks any innocent love of wisdom or love of country. We are supercompetent regarding efficiency and convenience; we are at a loss regarding what it’s all for. Yet because the old orthodoxies have crumbled, our “interesting time” paradoxically offers genuine opportunities for renewal and growth. The old Socratic question “How to live?” suddenly commands serious attention. Young Americans, if liberated from the prevailing cynicism, will readily embrace weighty questions and undertake serious quests for a flourishing life. All they (and we) need is encouragement. This book provides that necessary encouragement by illuminating crucial—and still available—aspects of a worthy life, and by defending them against their enemies. With chapters on love, family, and friendship; human excellence and human dignity; teaching, learning, and truth; and the great human aspirations of Western civilization, it offers help to both secular and religious readers, to people who are looking on their own for meaning and to people who are looking to deepen what they have been taught or to square it with the spirit of our times.

What Makes It Worthy

Book Description
"A story that truly explores the American system not just from an insider's viewpoint, but from the very real experiences of human beings ... and yes, add a dose of romance to the political cocktail: it's just what this drink needs to make it perfect!" declares the Midwest Book Review. What Makes It Worthy is a brilliant tell-all about the tabloidization of American politics that takes readers inside the corruptive interplay between powerbrokers and press at the highest levels. This "absorbing novel ... does what nonfiction cannot: it allows readers to know what it's like to live Washington politics ... with fictional characters who seem all too real," says political strategist James Carville. "Captivating," writes novelist Matthew Thomas, "part case study, part postmortem, and part love letter to political intrigue." And novelist Lynn Lauber calls it "a Primary Colors for this generation." Kirkus Reviews writes that the novel is "a genuinely tender love story" and "insightful." "Both a love story and an exposé on modern American campaigns," says former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. What Makes It Worthy is also the personal story of Taylor Solomon and Cait Ellis. Taylor is a rising star at America's fastest-growing political media machine. Cait is a young New York Times reporter who wrestles with the shadow of her legendary mother. And it is an historic-yet familiar-campaign. The Republican, who hails from one of America's power clans and has long been in the national spotlight, seeks to become the first female president. Her Democratic opponent, a State Department veteran setting the election afire with populism, hopes to make his own history as the first Hispanic president. On the campaign trail, as ethics gray and events envelop politicians, operatives, and reporters-as Cait and Taylor struggle with how much distance must be accepted between their ideals and their choices-the political not only becomes personal, but also threatens to upend their lives, as well as the presidential campaign itself. Written by well-known political journalist David Paul Kuhn, What Makes It Worthy is "a heartfelt page-turner that proves a good novel can both entertain you and inform you," in the words of former Michigan Governor

Pages : 204
Book Description
What does the Bible say about the value of women? Does the Bible teach that women are as valuable as men or does it portray them as somehow more flawed, more suspect, or weak and easily deceived? Beginning from Genesis and working all the way through the storyline of the Bible, Worthy demonstrates the significant and yes, even surprising, ways that God has used women to accomplish His kingdom goals. Because, like men, they are created in His image, their lives reflect and declare His worth. Worthy will enable and encourage both men and women to embrace this true and lofty vision of God's creation, plan, and their value in His eyes. Bestselling author Elyse Fitzpatrick and pastor Eric Schumacher together invite women to embrace a transformative and empowering view of their Maker, themselves, and the church. But this isn't only a book for women. It is also a book for men, especially leaders, who want to grow in their understanding of God's perspective on women, people who normally make up the majority of their congregations; men who might be wondering if they've missed something amid the abuse scandals that are rocking the church. Might the headlines they're reading today about abuse have their roots in a denigration of the value and worth of women? Worthy: Celebrating the Value of Women will help every reader see the value, place, and calling of women through study questions and a "Digging Deeper" section that will help men and women discover how to cherish, value, and honor one another for God's glory.

Book Description
When we feel that we aren’t enough, or that we aren’t good enough, we also fear that we’ll never have enough. Money. We love it. We hate it. If we don’t have enough, we’re struggling to get more. If we do have it, we’re fighting to hold on to it. Why does money have to be such a source of anxiety? Is it possible to find peace? Yes! According to master integrative coach Nancy Levin, the real key to creating financial freedom isn’t changing what we do, it’s changing our limiting beliefs about how we feel —and that requires more than just learning how to invest. In Worthy, Nancy makes an essential, eye-opening connection: the state of our net worth is a direct reflection of our self-worth. Then she shows us how to get to the root of the problem and do the internal work that’s needed to replace feelings of unworthiness with a solid sense of our own value. Filled with inspiring real-life stories and thought-provoking questions and answers, her 10-step plan helps us to: • Get real about the money issues we face every day • Examine the excuses we use to avoid creating the life we really want • Be willing to see ourselves as worthy of abundance in all its forms • Take back our financial power —and watch amazing things start to happen Whether we’re looking for financial ease or a new relationship with money and ourselves, Worthy will give us the tools to clear the path for wholeness, fulfillment, and richness in all areas of our lives, not just in our bank accounts.

Worthy Woman

Pages : 48
Book Description
Many women are not being treated in a way that makes them feel loved, cherished, and protected by their man. Their feelings aren't heard. Their needs aren't met. Their love is not reciprocated. Their boundaries are not respected. Not to the level that they deserve. Not to the level that they need to truly thrive as women. Not even close. But what if a man's behaviour towards his woman is just a reflection of what she is communicating to him? What if a man could feel inspired to treat his woman much better, if she changed what she was communicating? What if there were practical action based steps that a woman could take to communicate in a radically different way? The truth is, most men are capable of being the devoted masculine leader that a woman needs. A man who leads his relationship, focused on making his woman feel happy, safe, and loved. A man who works on himself diligently to become a better and stronger man for his woman. Wherever a man is in his current level of growth, he can usually be inspired to start showing up as that man. He just needs the right kind of woman to inspire him. This book will show you how to become that woman.
