Book Description
The Church is being invaded by spiritual parasites that are causing weakness, paralysis, blindness, and ineffectiveness in the Body of Christ today. Using the seven churches of the Book of Revelation as the backdrop for her teaching on this vital subject, Tina Blount speaks directly and convincingly about: The parasite of busyness The parasite of fear The parasite of compromise The parasite of tolerance The parasite of blind hypocrisy The parasite of inferiority The parasite of complacency The author writes, Shortly after major surgery, I learned that a rare parasite had been found in my body, I later learned that if the parasite had lived, it would have traveled to my eyes, spiritual parasites do the same thing. They enter during moments of vulnerability or weakness, and, left unadressed, they will feed on the host until they render it useless or destroy it. This analogy is effective in that it not only warns us but it shows us how to deal with the problem through effective spiritual warfare. Let's heed the warning and protect the Chruch of Jesus Christ, our own lives, and our families through the strategies outlined in this eye - opening, helpful book.

The Seven Churches of the Apocalypse: A Look at the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation

The Seven Churches of the Apocalypse: A Look at the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation PDF Author: Daniel H. Kiser
Publisher: Outskirts Press

Pages : 472

Book Description
While in exile on the Island of Patmos, the Apostle John received this instruction from Jesus: "Write what you see into a book. Send it to the seven churches: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea" (Revelation 1:11; The Message Bible). Jesus then proceeds to dictate to the apostle personal messages to each of the seven churches. The content of these messages does not contain the opinions, or instructions of a pastor, deacon, elder or governing church council. These messages were sent directly from Jesus and reveal his assessment of each church. This in itself should be sufficient reason for taking the time and exerting the energy to do an exhaustive study of the seven churches. But there are additional reasons as well which are dealt with extensively in this book. The messages reveal what is acceptable and unacceptable to Jesus in the life of a church. They also reflect seven periods of church history. In addition, the messages explain a Christian's relationship to the group of believers with which they are associated. Furthermore, they stress the responsibility of every Christian to protect the spiritual welfare of the local church. Finally, these messages provide the proper perspective of what Jesus values most in a church. At the end of each message Jesus makes this statement: "Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches!" (Revelation 2:7; New Living Translation). The messages to the seven churches of the Apocalypse are as relevant today as they were when John received them. They are intended for anyone who has ears to hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Secrets of the Seven Churches

Secrets of the Seven Churches PDF Author: Will Clark

Book Description
Do you want to really understand the warnings in John's letters to the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation? If so, then you must read this book. John's letters to the seven churches warn all to pay attention to events and to listen to what the Spirit tells them. The admonishment, 'He that hath an ear pay attention to what's happening' was repeated in each of the seven letters. This admonishment was not addressed to the 'seven' churches.' It was addressed seven times to 'all' churches; especially today's churches. At this time, and to those ancient churches; what are our greatest warnings from God in the Book of Revelation to watch and to understand what's happening around us. Three things were emphasized over and over: First, to hold fast to our faith in Christ. Second, to be aware of that Jezebel who will lead many astray. Third, to avoid sexual immorality and fornication. These three were emphasized over and over to 'all' churches. Christ's words introduced us to that woman, Jezebel, as being in the church at Thyatira; but He didn't say who she was, and He didn't say she was not in other churches. Later, in Chapter 17, He showed us exactly who that Jezebel, religion, is. It's clearly the Islamic religion "drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." That description could not be more clear and definitive. This woman, this religion, didn't exist until seven hundred years after the letters were written to the seven churches. There would have been no way for those in the seven churches at that time to interpret what the letters mean today. The letters were warnings of future events that would occur. We were warned not to be seduced by that 'prophetess.' Those who fall into her trap, or blindly turn aside and accept her ways, will be denied their salvation with God. That's why the Seven Spirits of God are within us; for power to defeat that great Beast led by Satan. And, we were warned to refrain from sexual immorality and fornication. In this warning, He spoke to individuals, churches, and nations as shown in Leviticus 18:24, "Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things; for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you." This book also answers many other questions and mysteries in those seven letters. For example, the source of the words Nicolaitanes, Balaam, and Balac are identified and explained; and how they apply to today's events. The children of Israel suffered God's wrath for many generations when He cast them out of their land when they turned against his Word. Should we in the United States, or any other part of the world, consider ourselves safe from His wrath and His promises just because we are more important, more worldly and more sophisticated than were the ancient Jews?
