Samuel Hinckley immigrated to Massachusetts from Tenterden, Kent County, England in 1634/35 where he settled in Scituate, later moving to Barnstable. Samuel died in 1662 in Barnstable. One descendant, Walter Roger Hinckley (1827-1909) married Anna Mary McDonald (1831-1891) in New York. They later lived in Wisconsin and Texas. Both died in Dallas. Family members lived in Connecticut, New York, California, Texas, and elsewhere.
