I Don't Wait Anymore

I Don't Wait Anymore PDF Author: Grace Thornton
Publisher: Zondervan
ISBN: 0310350069
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 253

Book Description
In I Don’t Wait Anymore, Grace Thornton challenges readers to find their calling and purpose from God and go after it with completely committed hearts. Have you been waiting for life to turn out the way you expected? You’re not alone. There are lots of us out there who feel that way. Grace Thornton is one. She had dreams, plans, and ideas for what life should look like. For one, she thought she’d be married. She thought she’d have kids. She thought God would bring her the life she’d been waiting for because she knew He was good and she tried to be obedient. But that’s not what happened. Not at all. So she found herself wrestling with God. Who is He if He doesn’t bring along the life, husband, and 2.5 kids she thought He was supposed to? And where should she go from there? When she got brutally honest with herself and asked the hard question, “Why do I think the world has more to offer than God does?” the answer was stunning. Her honesty led to the path God had for her. One that would write a story for her life that was even better than the one she had dreamed for herself. This positive and encouraging book offers inspiration to anyone who wants to live a fulfilling life right now. Grace decided to let go of her expectations of the way life “should be” and grasp God’s hand for the adventure He had for her. You can too.

ISBN: 9780972758222
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 80

Book Description
Grace to Wait on God is a spiritual guide designed to encourage believers to wait on God in every area of their lives. While we might believe in God and say that we trust His Word, so many of us feel that we do not have time to wait on Him to manifest the things that He has promised us. In this 80 page, easy to read, biblically based book, the author uses scriptures, examples, personal experiences and testimonies to help us learn to wait on God. Endorsements: "Grace to Wait on God opens a new perspective on how we wait, as well as the inner work God is doing while we wait for Him to manifest the promises that we earnestly believe Him for. Remember, YOU were born to soar." - MINISTER LINITA EDGE, PROMISE LAND CHURCH "Grace to Wait on God is destined to change lives. It is a necessary book for those who struggle with impatience. Many times we watch as God blesses others tremendously, sometimes wondering why He has neglected us for so long. However, Minister Teresa G. Bates teaches us that God has not neglected us but He has a time and a season for each person. She teaches us how to wait for God in everything we do. Grace to Wait on God is a book that informs the reader of the wonderful and blessed benefits of waiting patiently for God, who also waits patiently for us." - MINISTER RENITA C. WILLIS, FOUNDER OF WRITERS FOR CHRIST "Grace to Wait On God is an excellent book. I enjoyed the simplicity and easy reading. As I read the book, I saw the author's expressions of God's love and desire, not only for us to be saved, but to know that while we are waiting, He is waiting for His image to be developed in us. It is a great book that He has put in her spirit and we all are believing that this is the first of many that will be coming forth. Out of her belly shall flow rivers of living water (John 7:38)." - MELINDA BROWN-MINISTER, PROMISE LAND CHURCH

Waiting on Grace

Waiting on Grace PDF Author: Michael Barnes
Publisher: Oxford University Press, USA
ISBN: 0198842198
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 265

Book Description
Whereas much theology of religions regards 'the other' as a problem to be solved, this book begins with a Church called to witness to its faith in a multicultural world by practising a generous yet risky hospitality. A theology of dialogue takes its rise from the Christian experience of being-in-dialogue. Taking its rise from the biblical narrative of encounter, call and response, such a theology cannot be fully understood without reference to the matrix of faith that Christians share in complex ways with the Jewish people. The contemporary experience of the Shoah, the dominating religious event of the 20th Century, has complexified that relationship and left an indelible mark on the religious sensibility of both Jews and Christians. Engaging with a range of thinkers, from Heschel, Levinas and Edith Stein who were all deeply affected by the Shoah, to Metz, Panikkar and Rowan Williams, who are always pressing the limits of what can and cannot be said with integrity about the self-revealing Word of God, this book shows how Judaism is a necessary, if not sufficient, source of Christian self-understanding. What is commended by this foundational engagement is a hope-filled 'waiting on grace' made possible by virtues of empathy and patience. A theology of dialogue focuses not on metaphysical abstractions but on biblical forms of thought about God's presence to human beings which Christians share with Jews and, under the continuing guidance of the Spirit of Christ, learn to adapt to a whole range of contested cultural and political contexts.
