Book Description
Excerpt from Victory Over Sin, and What Gives Assurance The sea might come near this spot, and perhaps cast up its spray, but would never be found reaching it. Such is the position of a soul in Christ; justified and united to Him, the person may be in full sight still of the worlds threatening and angry waves; but he is perfectly safe, and cannot be over whelmed. Paul says of all Christians: 'Ye are risen with Christ' (Col. iii. 1.) We are not only at peace with God; but besides, 'He hath raised us up together with Christ, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus' (Eph. ii. 6.) Any one who understands this union to Christ will see at once what a blessed plan it is, formed by the God of holiness, for giving a sinner victory over sin. It Is Finished

It Is Finished PDF Author: David Wilkerson
Publisher: Baker Books
ISBN: 1441261338
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 179

Book Description
Founder of Teen Challenge Shows How to Overcome Persistent Sins This is David Wilkerson's capstone teaching, poured out from a heart that discovered the power God has given his people to triumph over sin. Through Wilkerson's expert ability to blend teaching with personal application, he shows that the key to defeating life-controlling habits is found in one thing: the new covenant God enacted with his people. In today's era of pop psychology, most Christians battle temptation and sin through self-help techniques or gritty self-will. Even Wilkerson, through decades of ministry that led hundreds of thousands to salvation and deliverance, struggled to know true peace as he battled his own "besetting sins." Determined to find victory, Wilkerson came to grasp the stunning reality that the vast love of God provides the spiritual resources believers need to obey his every command. Gathered from some of his most prominent sermons, this is one of Wilkerson's most powerful teachings--one that will redeem countless lives into the life-giving experience of purity.

Secrets of Victory (Classic Reprint) PDF Author: Carrie Judd Montgomery

Pages : 170

Book Description
Excerpt from Secrets of Victory About nine years ago I became associated with Mrs. Carrie Judd Montgomery in her precious work for the Lord at Beulah Heights, Oakland, California. During these years her Bible Lessons, given in the Home of Peace, Beulah Chapel and Ebell Hall, have been the means of growth and enrichment to my spiritual life, and through the knowledge of Jesus Christ thus gained, I have been enabled to stand in the hardest battles and see the salvation of the Lord. As these Bible Lessons have gone out through the Triumphs of Faith, letters have poured in from all parts of the world expressing the fact that they had been blessed of God to a great many others, as they had to me, and there were continual pleas for different editorials to be put into tract form As it was im possible for us to comply with these requests, I began asking God how this crying need for spiritual help might be met, and one day He put in my heart this thought of selecting a number of the most helpful editorials and publishing them in book form. This little book is sent out under our Heavenly Fathers direction and is followed with much prayer that its messages may bring comfort, inspire faith, and lead into a blessed and victorious life, all who read its pages. Salvation From Sin, the End of Christian Faith (Classic Reprint) PDF Author: John Humphrey Noyes

Book Description
Excerpt from Salvation From Sin, the End of Christian Faith In denying that the Old Testament saints were born of God, we must not be understood as denying that they had any religion. It appears by the passage above quoted, that there are two dis tinct stages in religious experience, in the first of which men may properly be called servants of God, while yet they are not sons. It is important that this distinction should be clearly seen, and constantly kept in view. We admit, and teach, that the Old Testament saints were servants of God in the ages before Christ, and that they became sons at his coming. But what is the difference between servants and sons? Did not the Old Testament saints love God Yes and so many servants love and honor their masters, while yet there is no vital union, no blood-relationship between them. So there was no vital union between God and man, till Christ came in the flesh. Abraham was called the friend of God, and he doubtless loved God as a man loves his friend but it is not said in scripture, and it is not true, that Christ was in him that he dwelt in God, and God in him. This spiritual indwelling was hid from ages and from generations, and was manifested only after the mission of Christ. Col. 1 26, 27. It is this that brings men into blood-relationship to God, so that they are entitled to the name of sons of God.
