Book Description
Validation of Concentrations Estimated from Air Dispersion Modeling for Source-receptor Distances of Less Than 100 Meters
Planned Air Pollution Research
Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Dispersion in Urban Environments
Investigation of Short Range Dispersion in Urban Areas
Measurements of Electromagnetic Pulse Propagation in Various Soils
Author: Michael L. Burrows

Category : Air
Languages : en
Pages : 128
Book Description
Measurements of the propagation velocity and attenuation of 2.5, 5, and 10 nS pulses in various soils with varying water contents have been made by packing the soils into a specially built coaxial line. From the table of results it is also possible to infer qualitatively the amount of pulse dispersion. The soils tested range from pure sand, which is essentially non-dispersive and has low attenuation, through various loams of moderate dispersion and attenuation to the highly-dispersive, highly-attenuating pure clays. (Author).

Book Description
"The combination of scientific and institutional integrity represented by this book is unusual. It should be a model for future endeavors to help quantify environmental risk as a basis for good decisionmaking." â€"William D. Ruckelshaus, from the foreword. This volume, prepared under the auspices of the Health Effects Institute, an independent research organization created and funded jointly by the Environmental Protection Agency and the automobile industry, brings together experts on atmospheric exposure and on the biological effects of toxic substances to examine what is knownâ€"and not knownâ€"about the human health risks of automotive emissions.
