Book Description
Excerpt from The Use of the Apocrypha in the Christian Church The following pages have been written in the hope of supporting the position taken up by the VIth Article of Religion with regard to the Apocryphal books. The negative side of that position seems to have been far too much insisted upon; the positive side far too little. The results may be perceived in the omission of these books from the great majority of English Bibles printed in the present century, and in the disproportionately small use made of the Apocrypha for the purposes the Article specifies. That such was not the practice of the Church in the early centuries, nor formerly of the Church of England, either before or after the Reformation, it is the aim of this Essay to shew. There are now distinct indications that the neglect of "the other bookss" is on the wane. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist

I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist PDF Author: Norman L. Geisler
Publisher: Crossway
ISBN: 1433581442
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 417

Book Description
To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide readers through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God. They move into an examination of the source of morality and the reliability of the New Testament accounts concerning Jesus. The final section of the book deals with a detailed investigation of the claims of Christ. This volume will be an interesting read for those skeptical about Christianity, as well as a helpful resource for Christians seeking to articulate a more sophisticated defense of their faith.
