Heat Conduction

Heat Conduction PDF Author: M. Necati Özışık
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 9780471532569
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 716

Book Description
This Second Edition for the standard graduate level course in conduction heat transfer has been updated and oriented more to engineering applications partnered with real-world examples. New features include: numerous grid generation--for finding solutions by the finite element method--and recently developed inverse heat conduction. Every chapter and reference has been updated and new exercise problems replace the old.

Analytical Methods for Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Problems

Analytical Methods for Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Problems PDF Author: Bernhard Weigand
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3662465930
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 320

Book Description
This book describes useful analytical methods by applying them to real-world problems rather than solving the usual over-simplified classroom problems. The book demonstrates the applicability of analytical methods even for complex problems and guides the reader to a more intuitive understanding of approaches and solutions. Although the solution of Partial Differential Equations by numerical methods is the standard practice in industries, analytical methods are still important for the critical assessment of results derived from advanced computer simulations and the improvement of the underlying numerical techniques. Literature devoted to analytical methods, however, often focuses on theoretical and mathematical aspects and is therefore useless to most engineers. Analytical Methods for Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow Problems addresses engineers and engineering students. The second edition has been updated, the chapters on non-linear problems and on axial heat conduction problems were extended. And worked out examples were included.

Analytical Heat and Fluid Flow in Microchannels and Microsystems

Analytical Heat and Fluid Flow in Microchannels and Microsystems PDF Author: Renato M. Cotta
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319233122
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 175

Book Description
This book focuses on the modeling and analysis of heat and fluid flow in microchannels and micro-systems, compiling a number of analytical and hybrid numerical-analytical solutions for models that account for the relevant micro-scale effects, with the corresponding experimental analysis validation when applicable. The volume stands as the only available compilation of easy to use analytically-based solutions for micro-scale heat and fluid flow problems, that systematically incorporates the most relevant micro-scale effects into the mathematical models, followed by their physical interpretation on the micro-system behavior.

Heat Transfer

Heat Transfer PDF Author: M. Becker
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1468412566
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 433

Book Description
There have been significant changes in the academic environment and in the workplace related to computing. Further changes are likely to take place. At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the manner in which the subject of heat transfer is presented is evolving so as to accommodate to and, indeed, to participate in, the changes. One obvious change has been the introduction of the electronic calcula tor. The typical engineering student can now evaluate logarithms, trigonomet ric functions, and hyperbolic functions accurately by pushing a button. Teaching techniques and text presentations designed to avoid evaluation of these functions or the need to look them up in tables with associated interpolation are no longer necessary. Similarly, students are increasingly proficient in the use of computers. At RPI, every engineering student takes two semesters of computing as a fresh man and is capable of applying the computer to problems he or she encoun ters. Every student is given personal time on the campus computer. In addition, students have access to personal computers. In some colleges, all engineering students are provided with personal computers, which can be applied to a variety of tasks.

Colton

Colton PDF Author: Larry Sheffield
Publisher: Arcadia Publishing
ISBN: 1439614288
Category : Photography
Languages : en
Pages : 840

Book Description
Take a train to Southern California, and you'll pass through Colton. Once the home of Gabrielino and Serrano Indians, Colton is now known as the "Hub City," the only place in the United States where the Union Pacific and the Burlington, Northern & Santa Fe railroads cross. Westward-bound rail passengers travel through the horseshoe-shaped valley along the same trails that served Spanish explorers journeying from Mexico to Monterey in the 1770s. The valley's early settlers made use of the rich soil and ready transportation, cultivating fruit trees and shipping their harvest north and east. Legendary figures have also roamed Colton's streets, including the famous Tombstone gunslingers Wyatt Earp and his brother Virgil, who was Colton's first marshal, and their father, Nicholas, who served as a justice of the peace and city recorder. Over the 150 years of the community's history, many have passed through Colton, and all have left their mark on this classically Californian town.
