William Edmunson was born ca. 1682 at Cork, Ireland, the son of Samuel Edmundson (1659-1719) and the grandson of William Edmundson (1627-1712), "the Irish Quaker" preacher. He and his family immigrated to America ca. 1715 and settled at London Grove, Pennsylvania, on land owned by his grandfather.
