Excerpt from Twenty-Second Annual Report of the Bureau of Animal Industry for the Year 1905 Sm: I have the honor to transmit herewith the Twenty-second Annual Report of the Bureau of Animal Industry for the year 1905, and recommend that it be forwarded to the Public Printer for print ing, as provided by section 73 of the act of Congress approved J an uary 12, 1895. In September, 1905, Dr. D. E. Salmon, who had served as Chief of the Bureau for more than twenty-one years, beginning with its organization in 1884, resigned that position, and his resignation was accepted by you to take effect November 1, 1905. The undersigned has been in charge of the Bureau work from the time 'of Doctor Salmon's retirement. The report of the Chief of the Bureau for the fiscal year ended J une 30, 1905, is therefore by Doctor Salmon, as that period came entirely within his administration.
