Book Description
Earthquakes rip through the world as the Creator approaches, the stars fall, the sun goes dark, and the moon proclaims death. Jesus comes and His powerful presence causes the atmosphere to split and roll away. Revelation 6 shows people wailing for the mountains to bury them: “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come; and who will be able to stand?” And who does stand in that day? No one. Not a single soul. It's the total annihilation of a vile, self-righteous human race. God's followers expected all of this to happen on October 22, 1844. They watched and waited, but Jesus didn't return. This was only a warning preview of His return in the sixth seal. In God's mercy, He commands to delay the cataclysm of judgment day so that He can send to the world the needed preparation for the day of wrath. That needed preparation comes with the seven trumpets of the seventh seal that occur after 1844. The postponed destruction seen in the sixth seal will yet be a future reality. The Seven Trumpets and the Investigative Judgment examines chapters 4–11 in the book of Revelation and studies how recent events since 9/11 have almost completed God's gracious delay. This book presents a new view of Revelation that meets the biblical rules of prophetic interpretation and of the inspired “testimony of Jesus,” which is “the spirit of prophecy” (Rev. 19:10). How have we done in this waiting period? Will we stand when Jesus returns? By God's grace this book will help you prepare for that great day.

Revelation: An Introduction and Study Guide

Revelation: An Introduction and Study Guide PDF Author: Stephen D. Moore
Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing
ISBN: 0567696790
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 129

Book Description
This study guide explores the origins and reception history of the Book of Revelation and its continuing fascination for readers from both religious and secular backgrounds. Stephen D. Moore examines the transcultural impact Revelation has had, both within and beyond Christianity, not only on imaginings of when and how the world will end, but also on imaginings of the risen Jesus, heaven and hell, Satan, the Antichrist, and even Mary the mother of Jesus. Moore traces Revelation's remarkable reception through the ages, with special emphasis on its twentieth and twenty-first century appropriations, before resituating the book in its original context of production: Who wrote it, where, when, why, and modelled on what? The study guide culminates with a miniature commentary on the entire text of Revelation, weaving together liberationist, postcolonial, feminist, womanist, queer, and ecological approaches to the book in order to discern what it might mean for contemporary readers and communities concerned with issues of social justice.

"An Outline to the Book of Acts, An Outline to the General Epistles of James, Peter, John and Jude and An Outline to the Book of Revelation"

Author: Dr. Leland McClanahan Ph.D.
Publisher: Xlibris Corporation
ISBN: 1483676080
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 449

Book Description
This is a study of the only book of history in the New Testament. Preceding this study are outlines of the Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. For further New Testament study, outlines of the epistles have been prepared, as well as an outline of the Book of Revelation. The purpose of these outlines is to provide a resource for the use of serious Bible students, as well as for Pastors and teachers, to assist them in their studies. It is hoped that the student and the teacher will find information which will clarify the text and bring a greater depth of understanding of the Word of God. Pastors should find within the details presented valuable sequences for developing Bible studies and for use in developing sermons. Perhaps a more significant title for this book would have been, "The Acts of the Holy Spirit", as it reveals the Holy Spirit in His work in the early church. The narrative opens with Jesus telling His disciples that the Holy Spirit will baptize them with His power. They are to wait in Jerusalem until that day. The Day of Pentecost arrives and the Spirit is seen as a wind bringing fire to the heads of the apostles, inflaming them to speak in the varied tongues of the pilgrims who have gathered for the feast, every man hearing the Word of God in their own language. Philip finds himself taken by the Spirit to the desert to instruct and witness to the Ethiopian eunuch. Barnabas and Paul become missionaries by the Spirit. The Jerusalem church is inspired by the Spirit to accept the Gentile churches. And the Spirit attends Paul in his missionary journeys, and there is no doubt that Luke was inspired by the Spirit as he penned these words. This book deals with the actions of Peter and Paul, and with the growth of the church to the west. Paul's missionary journeys are dealt with and the development of the church away from Jerusalem and the Jews, to Rome and the Gentiles. It is accepted by all Biblical authorities that Luke is the author of this book. He is not named as author within the pages, however, there are several instances of the "we" in the first person plural in connection with Paul. It is well known that Luke was with Paul in Palestine during Paul's imprisonment in Caesarea, and that he traveled with Paul on the missionary journeys. Luke again addresses his writing to Theophilus, as he did in the Gospel of Luke. The exact date is unknown, but it is generally believed to have been written circa 62 A.D.
