Book Description
The Bible clearly tells us that the end of time is near. The devil is constantly assaulting God's people with devastating forms of spiritual warfare. This war is being waged world wide. The battlefield is in the heart of every believer and the souls of mankind are the prize. We, as Christians, must not fear and give up. God is on our side and we will win. We are instructed to put on the whole armor of God. But what are our weapons? How do we learn to use them? How do we fight an unseen enemy? What does God expect of us? Can we really be victorious? The purpose of this book is to show how God's Word answers these questions. It is my desire that you fully comprehend what God has given to me, so - "I've tried to write it, so that you can understand it." In 1970, while a senior at the University of Georgia, Danny Callahan, received his calling into the ministry. God's words were crystal clear that day, as He shared His will for Danny's life. Then the Lord ended His instructions with these words, "I want you to say it so that they can understand." After graduation Danny entered the job market and pursued his own dreams. But "the calling" haunted him day and night. After struggling for two years, he surrendered his will to God, and his life has never been the same. He started his first youth group in 1973 and served as a youth minister for the next twenty years. In August of 1993 he accepted the pastorate of Kettle Creek Church, in Waycross, Georgia. He has faithfully ministered there for the past fifteen years and continues to humbly serve as their Shepherd.

Coral Sea Calling

Coral Sea Calling PDF Author: Ion Idriess
Publisher: ETT Imprint
ISBN: 1922698563
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 242

Book Description
The treacherous and beautiful Coral Sea is the background for this story of the nineteenth century adventurers on perilous voyages into its waters in search of the bêche-de-mer and pearl shell; of the savage chiefs who ruled its islands; of the seamen who charted it; of the explorers struggling up the Queensland coast; a tale of the taming of the wilderness and its people. ...as in all Idriess books, there is always something good somewhere; and here it is the two chapters on Jemmy the Hook, who had had both hands chopped off by mutinous islander-crews, and who returned with iron hooks instead of hands to take a gruesome vengeance on yet another mutinous crew; it is a story which calls all the Idriess descriptive powers into play, and the reader avid of blood-and-guts can be assured of exactly that. - The Bulletin, 1957 As so often in Australian letters, an initial fall into obscurity and harsh judgments of the literary establishment serve as good indicators of a writer's pre-eminence. - Nicholas Rothwell, The Australian, 2017

Book Description
One hundred fifty Psalms written as a narrative for easy reading reveals secrets never before exposed within the Psalms. We notice how often Jesus appears in the Psalms without mentioning Him directly. Many mysteries within the Psalms have seldom been explored as is in this book by Dr. Tegenkamp, Th.D, boy preacher at the age 16, war veteran of 1963, evening University student earning three degrees in theology; his passion of life. This book serves as a wonderful daily devotional. Also, The Eternity Code serves as a very easy teaching tool in Bible study classes. The greatest pleasure in this read is the relationship as it introduces the reader to the Almighty assisting the reader in understanding the characters within the Psalms. Dozens of pastors have read this book with the comment, Once I began reading it I could not put it down. This is a book you will treasure for years to come, passing it down to your children and grandchildren I promise you will not be disappointed, Dr. Bob.

This Present Triumph

This Present Triumph PDF Author: Richard M. Cozart
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1620322404
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 345

Book Description
"The author of Ephesians shows an interest in the Isaianic new exodus (INE) in facilitating his focus on the present triumph of the people of God. The recipients required both insight and confidence, especially in regard to the certainty of their salvation, its mysterious nature, Jewish-Gentile relations, and their former manner of life. In the face of these challenges the author maintains that victory is secured through God's choice of them and the working of his redemptive program--which inevitably leads to triumphal blessings. As with the exodus-era Hebrews, the readers participate in paschal redemption, now embodied in Christ, along with his resurrection and ascension as the triumphant new exodus warrior over principalities and powers. In addition, and as predicted by OT writers, Gentile proselytes share the blessings of the new exodus, but now on equal footing and access as Jewish Christians--creating a new eschatological temple. Triumphant Christ distributes gifts, facilitates Spirit-endowed living, and enables Christian warfare that mirrors Yahweh and his servant. The recipients of the epistle appear to be called to view INE triumph as above, below, now and not yet, while not discarding current applications on earth. "

The Branch Exposition of the Bible, Volume 2

The Branch Exposition of the Bible, Volume 2 PDF Author: Michael A. Eaton
Publisher: Langham Publishing
ISBN: 1839739045
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 2690

Book Description
A great deal of biblical scholarship is written for academics and fails to edify readers or strengthen their Christian ministry. Yet, Christians need to be nourished by the word of God so they can mature in faith and righteousness. Filling this gap, The Branch Exposition of the Bible is a resource for preachers, scholars and ordinary Christians alike, to help open God’s word and shed its light into life, ministry and teaching. Inspired by the words of the great reformer Martin Luther about shaking every branch of Scripture, and with experience in ministering across Africa, India and the West, Michael A. Eaton helps us understand the meaning of the Bible and taste its fruit. Together with the New Testament volume, this exposition of the Old Testament accessibly engages with the biblical languages, gives application for our lives and leads us through each book of the Old Testament so that we can meet the resurrected Jesus Christ in the pages of Scripture.

1014: Brian Boru & the Battle for Ireland

1014: Brian Boru & the Battle for Ireland PDF Author: Morgan Llywelyn
Publisher: Dover Publications
ISBN: 0486842002
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 259

Book Description
"A deftly written history that reads as smoothly as a novel." — Midwest Book Review In life, the eleventh-century Irish king Brian Boru held the Vikings at bay; in death, he remains a towering presence in history and legend. A thousand years have passed since the Battle of Clontarf, a turning point in Irish history in which two centuries of strife between Irish kings and Vikings climaxed in a fateful conflict in the swamps of Dublin. This fascinating survey explores the personalities on both sides and provides a vivid, accessible account of the historic clash. Morgan Llywelyn, author of the bestselling Lion of Ireland, ranks among the world's most successful and respected historical novelists writing about Ireland and Celtic culture. With this book she departs from fiction to transmit decades of research into a page-turning exploration of a warrior king's life, loves, and battles, bringing the facts to life with a novelist's eye for detail and drama. "Llywelyn's account is one of the most readable and dramatic on the subject. She brings the complexities of the Irish chieftain and inheritance systems to life and shows us how decisive the famous battle turned out to be." — Irish Voice
