Book Description
Jesus travailed at Gethsemane, interceding, and agonizing ...for the whole creation. He prayed, "Not my will, but thou will be done." The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. For years, at 3:00 am, the Holy Spirit woke me up to pray. One morning, I was awakened by a bright light shining in one corner of my bedroom. I felt led to pray for specific individuals. Later that day, the first person I prayed for called saying they woke up early that morning with chest pains and difficulty breathing. They're fine now. When I told God I wanted to be a Missionary, He made me a missionary in the workplace; I've spearheaded lunchtime Bible Study groups and was an Intercessor. The workplace is a big mission field. God taught me about demon spirits. I interceded on behalf of people possessed with or oppressed by demons. Betty A. Collins is an Intercessor and has the gift of Prophesy. She is the mother of one grown son, Robyn, who is blessed with an eye for photography. For over twenty years, she trained, mentored, and encouraged young people in church and in the secular. She was a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for thirteen years representing abused, neglected, and at-risk youth in both Contra Costa and Alameda County Courts. She was a first grade Sunday school teacher. While working at different companies, she spearheaded lunchtime Bible Study and prayer groups. Before she retired, she was a Technical Writer in Information Technology developing company manuals.

Strike the Mark

Strike the Mark PDF Author: James W Goll
Publisher: Whitaker House
ISBN: 164123296X
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 204

Book Description
Prayers that strike the mark are specific prayers authorized by the Holy Spirit and endowed with divine power to accomplish the will of God in your life and for the needs of the world. On the cross, Jesus fulfilled the ultimate answer to all of our prayers, but He awaits our invitation to come into our situations and circumstances. When people of prayer intercede, they create a meeting place between the heavenly Father and His children. God comes upon the person who is praying and moves them from the natural to the supernatural. Empowered by God, the intercessor has the authority to cut down enemy forces and pick out "targets" for God’s lightning bolts of glory, bringing victory and breakthrough. Intercession could be called "extreme prayer” because it links extreme needs with the extraordinary power of God. Inserting ourselves into the gap between God and a need, we call upon the Holy Spirit, our Helper, who is ready to move us from finite ability to infinite ability, take hold of difficult situations, and help accomplish the will of God. We have the great honor of being called to “paint targets” on cities, churches, ministries, family members, contemporary "Sauls" (those who persecute or cause difficulty), and even ourselves. Our believing, persistent prayers will Strike the Mark! “He covers His hands with the lightning, and commands it to strike the mark” (Job 36:32 NASB).

Necessity of Prayer

Necessity of Prayer PDF Author: Edward M. Bounds
Publisher: CCEL
ISBN: 1610250001
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 115

Book Description
In The Necessity of Prayer, Edward Bounds, a 20th century pastor and lawyer, suggests that prayer is an essential part of the Christian believer's life. He writes, "the Christian soldier, if he fight to win, must pray much." Bounds' book, however, is not simply a list of prayers for one to work through, but also a discourse on the very nature of prayer. He connects the nature of prayer to other features of the Christian life, such as faith, reverence, patience, hope, character, conduct, and faithfulness. Bounds' passion for prayer--which compelled him to write nine books on the topic--shines through in this work, and cannot but help motivate those who read it to also see the necessity of prayer. Perfect for individual study, Bounds' book is sure to change the way one prays. -Tim Perrine, CCEL Staff Writer
