Для каждого вида приводятся данные о местонахождении, распространении, синонимия, а для многих видов – диагнозы или описания. Книга иллюстрирована 250 оригинальными цветными фотографиями живых объектов, выполненных в естественных условиях, в аквариуме или сразу после сбора материала.
