At a ie of treatment rationing and standard setting, it aptly draws our attention to an issue of increasing importance: training the highest-quality family therapists. In addition, it offers trainers and supervisors an invaluable “howto-do-it” guide to tried-and-tested methods of taking trainees through a programme of personal and professional development. Book Description
Inhaltsangabe:Introduction: Advanced vocational training and continuous learning is needed to excel other competitors on the job market, and is contributing to self-satisfaction. Regarding the shipping crisis it should therefore be deemed crucial for nautical officers in order to qualify for special market segments aloof of the mostly affected container shipping. From a companies point of view the crisis should be considered as a chance for intern restructuring, thus gaining competitive advantages for the future. According to results from this year s human resources trade fair PERSONAL2009, well directed personnel development during the depression will give a return on investment by preventing skill shortage in the long run. One chance of specialisation for nautical officers can be seen in the field of ice-navigation which is becoming more and more important due to the opening of arctic seaways. According to the experience of Columbia Ship Management it has always been a problem to find skilled officers for this domain. Observing the development of Polar traffic and presuming an increase during the next decades it seems advisable to gather early experience in this field, in order to become a highly qualified officer until the demand on the job market rises. Additional nautical qualifications are obtained through practical experience and interaction on special operating ships and have to be consolidated by instructed courses and self-studying. E-learning in all of its facets offers very suitable ways, guiding through these studies. The research for this work was focused on two issues: E-Learning and its advantages for on-board training on the one hand, and the required proficiencies for a safe ice-navigator on the other hand. This written composition mainly copes with the qualities of e-learning, while the results of the study on ice-navigation topics can be found in the computer based training attached to this work. Pages : 72

Book Description
The purpose of the training module is to provide learners with a better understanding of what the gender roles in CSA are and their critical impact on project outcomes and sustainability. The training will teach them about different methods and tools to identify, formulate, implement, monitor and evaluate gender-responsive actions and practices in CSA development projects. Through the training, learners will become familiar with the main concepts of gender, climate change and climate-smart agr iculture. They will also understand the relevance of gender dimensions in climate change adaptation and mitigation and in developing gender-responsive CSA interventions. Furthermore, they will learn the steps to take and tools and approaches available for conducting gender analysis and promoting gender mainstreaming in CSA project design, implementation and monitoring. The manual also presents available gender, climate change and CSA guidelines and other relevant materials to support learners in their work in implementing gender-responsive interventions. This training module provides basic information for organizing a short training workshop to develop gender mainstreaming capacities in CSA-related projects, throughout the whole project cycle. The module mainly focuses on activities in the field. It is important to recognize, however, that gender-responsive CSA development also requires actions at the institutional and policy level as well as changes in the existing social and cultura l norms. The module also provides some recommendations for better integration of gender issues in governments’ CSA policies and strategies.

Training manual on forests and trees for food security and nutrition

Training manual on forests and trees for food security and nutrition PDF Author: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
Publisher: Food & Agriculture Org.
ISBN: 9251320284
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 92

Book Description
Currently in Tanzania, training institutions for professionals in cross-cutting sectors such as forestry and agriculture do not adequately capture the role of forest and tree resources for food security and nutrition, leading to dependency on one sector – agriculture – to cater for food and nutrition diversity. This undervalues the fundamental role of forest ecosystem services for sustainable agriculture by regulating water flows, stabilizing soils, maintaining soil fertility, regulating the climate, and providing habitat for wild pollinators and predators of agricultural pests. Provision of education on sustainable forests and trees for food security and nutrition at all levels seems to be the most conceivable entry point to ensure that adequate knowledge and skills are imparted to professionals. The goals of this training manual are to: enhance the recognition and significance of forestry to food security and nutrition through the sustainable management and use of forests and trees2; enhance the food security and nutrition benefits from the forests and trees; enhance and stimulate research and training capacity; strengthen institutional frameworks by incorporating food security and nutrition objectives in forest management policies, programmes and projects; and develop value chains based on forest and tree resources for sustainable development in the country. The overall objective is to create awareness and enable increased investment in the forestry sector for food security and nutrition in Tanzania. This training manual is also meant to serve as a useful tool for sharing and exchanging knowledge and experiences across different regions (within the country) and beyond.
