This is about 90 million pounds less than was auctioned during the corresponding quarter last year. Holdings of Burley tobacco were million pounds as of this October 1 which represents an increase of 80 million over stocks a year earlier Disappearance of Burley during the October l95l-september 1952 marketing year, as indicated by production estimates and changes in stocks, totaled 537 million pounds compared with 518 million during the previous marketing year. 'domestic consumption of about 507 million pounds was 19 million greater than during the previous market ing year; whereas exports of approximately 30 million were about the same.
