Publisher: White Falcon Publishing
ISBN: 9789353510930
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 594

Book Description
What is the spirit of this tradition? Why does it have a rebellious streak and what makes the masters so reluctant and hidden? Siddhas - Masters of Nature is an inspiring preamble, taken at an existential pace into the world of Siddhas. The book reflects upon the spirit of the Immortal Masters, their teachings, esoteric nature, and divine prowess. And how the native wisdom imparted during primordial times still retain sharp applicability to our post-modern world. The author offers an easy understanding of yoga, tantra, alchemy, medicine and healing, and the occult dimensions of this ancient spiritual science through his personal experiences with the hidden Masters of the oral lineage and anecdotes. The authenticity of this book is heightened by the inclusion of ancient cryptic poems of the twilight language (translated into English). This book assumes the nature of the Siddhas themselves. It demands and shakes your conditioning, as the Siddhas are the cyclonic storms that shake and uproot trees! It is not meant for passive readers.

Change, Continuity and Complexity

Change, Continuity and Complexity PDF Author: Jae-Eun Shin
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 0429831021
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 376

Book Description
The Mah?vidy?s are the representative Tantric feminine pantheon consisting of ten goddesses. It is formed by divergent religious strands and elements: the m?t? and yogin? worship, the cult of K?l? and Tripurasundar?, Vajray?na Buddhism, Jain Vidy?dev?s, ?aiva and Vai??ava faith, ?r?vidy?, the Brahmanical strand of Puranic traditions, etc. This volume is the first attempt to explore the historical process, through which these traditions culminated in the Mah?vidy? cult and the goddesses with different origins and contradictory attributes were brought into a cluster, with special reference to socio-political changes in the lower Ga?g? and Brahmaputra Valley between the 9th and 15th centuries CE. Based on a close analysis of Pur??as, Tantras and inscriptional evidence, and on extensive field research on archaeological remains as well as sacred sites, Jae-Eun Shin discusses the two trajectories of the Mah?vidy?s in eastern ??kta traditions. Each led to the systematization of Da?amah?vidy?s in a specific way: one, as ten manifestations of Durg? upholding dharma in the cosmic dimension, and the other, as ten mandalic goddesses bearing magical powers in the actual sacred site. Their attributes and characteristics have neither been static nor monolithic, and the mode of worship prescribed for them has changed in a dialectical religious process between Brahmanical and Tantric traditions of the region. This is the definitive work for anyone seeking to understand goddess cults of South Asia in general and the history of eastern ??kta traditions in particular. To aid study, the volume includes images, diagrams and maps. Please note: Taylor & Francis does not sell or distribute the Hardback in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The Subtle Energy Body

The Subtle Energy Body PDF Author: Maureen Lockhart
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1594776547
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 803

Book Description
A global study of the psychospiritual body and its central role in the esoteric and spiritual traditions of the world • Explains the nature, purpose, and functions of the subtle body • Explores the role of the subtle body in such traditions as Alchemy, Ayurveda, Tantra, Qi Gong, and Yoga • Shows how the various layers of the subtle body provide a map for various levels of consciousness Ancient traditions of both the East and West have long maintained that the human being is a complex of material and nonmaterial systems, or energy bodies. The “subtle body” is an energetic, psychospiritual entity of several layers of increasing subtlety and metaphysical significance through which the aspirant seeks knowledge of the self and the nature of God. In many traditions, the component parts of the subtle body serve as a map of the different levels of consciousness. The practices and disciplines that evolved from an awareness and understanding of the subtle body, and how the material and nonmaterial work together, form a coherent system of psychospiritual transformation that is central to numerous and extremely diverse spiritual practices--including those of the Gnostics, Sufis, Native Americans, Vedic seers, Chinese, and Greeks. The subtle body plays an essential part in more recent traditions such as Anthroposophy and Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way and the cutting-edge science of Ervin Laszlo’s research into the Akashic field. But the benefits of understanding the role of the subtle energy body are not confined solely to the spiritual plane. The energetic bodies provide a coherent system of life-affirming principles and practices for the diagnosis and treatment of the whole person that is not only part of many traditional healing systems, such as Acupuncture and Ayurveda, but also is forming the basis for a synthesis of traditional and contemporary healing practices that could lay the foundation for the medicine of the future.

Manuscript, Print and Memory

Manuscript, Print and Memory PDF Author: Eva Maria Wilden
Publisher: Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG
ISBN: 3110352761
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 462

Book Description
The ancient Tamil poetic corpus of the Caṅam ("The Academy") is a national treasure for Tamilians and a battle-ground for linguists and historians of politics, culture and literature. Going back to oral predecessors probably dating back to the beginning of the first millennium, it has had an extremely rich and variegated history. Collected into anthologies and endowed with literary theories and voluminous commentaries, it became the centre-piece of the Tamil literary canon, associated with the royal court of the Pandya dynasty in Madurai. Its decline began in the late middle ages, and by the late 17th century it had fallen into near oblivion, before being rediscovered at the beginning of the print era. The present study traces the complex historical process of its transmission over some 2000 years, using and documenting a wide range of sources, in particular surviving manuscripts, the early prints, the commentaries of the literary and grammatical traditions and a vast range of later literature that creates a web of inter-textual references and quotations.

Book Description
Why do we buy and read books? We need some interesting new content that bring us refreshing thoughts! It's our natural instinct to be curious and reflect our beliefs into Author's writings.I always felt that a good book should forget me to keep track of time and force to realign my other schedules to finish reading it. This could be books in self-improvement process, biographies, memoirs, philosophy related subjects. It's better if there is some sort of mystery or mystic added. If it's an ancient wisdom combined with modern scientific analysis, both my mind and heart believe them. This book is about Thirumoolar's thirumandiram. Thirumandiram (holy mantra) is the first religious epic text. Thirumoolar is the author of the text, believed to have lived in 7th century. I have just taken few key texts originally written in Tamil language and translated to current world situations. The original text contains Hindu temples, offering to God/teachers, conducting fire ceremony, etc. The ancient society treated the contents as a working life manual for the human beings. The contents are still popular since they teach the hidden cosmic energies and how to tap them through yoga and meditation.
