"In 1849 seventeen-year-old John Nevin Andrews joined the small group of Sabbathkeeping Adventists that emphasized the three angels' messages of Revelation 14 and believed Christ would soon return to earth. A Bible scholar, Andres later wrote prolifically. He was the first Sabbathkeeping Adventist to apply the figure of the lamblike beast in Revelation 13 to the United States.
