Book Description
Art of Money Getting by P. T. Barnum provides the Golden Rules for Making Money. These are the golden principles of success. Phineas Taylor Barnum (July 5, 1810 - April 7, 1891) was an American showman, businessman, scam artist and entertainer, remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and for founding the circus that became the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Although Barnum was also an author, publisher, philanthropist, and for some time a politician, he said of himself, "I am a showman by profession...and all the gilding shall make nothing else of me," and his personal aims were "to put money in his own coffers." Barnum is widely, but erroneously, credited with coining the phrase "There's a sucker born every minute." In the United States, where we have more land than people, it is not at all difficult for persons in good health to make money. In this comparatively new field there are so many avenues of success open, so many vocations which are not crowded, that any person of either sex who is willing, at least for the time being, to engage in any respectable occupation that offers, may find lucrative employment. Those who really desire to attain an independence, have only to set their minds upon it, and adopt the proper means, as they do in regard to any other object which they wish to accomplish, and the thing is easily done. But however easy it may be found to make money, I have no doubt many of my hearers will agree it is the most difficult thing in the world to keep it. The road to wealth is, as Dr. Franklin truly says, "as plain as the road to the mill." It consists simply in expending less than we earn; that seems to be a very simple problem. Mr. Micawber, one of those happy creations of the genial Dickens, puts the case in a strong light when he says that to have annual income of twenty pounds per annum, and spend twenty pounds and sixpence, is to be the most miserable of men; whereas, to have an income of only twenty pounds, and spend but nineteen pounds and sixpence is to be the happiest of mortals. Many of my readers may say, "we understand this: this is economy, and we know economy is wealth; we know we can't eat our cake and keep it also." Yet I beg to say that perhaps more cases of failure arise from mistakes on this point than almost any other. The fact is, many people think they understand economy when they really do not. Ideal for anyone looking for business inspiration and setting out in the true entrepreneurial spirit and starting out in their own business. This book is as much a part of American history as it is a resource for future innovators, you will be sure to find something new and interesting. The Art of Money Getting ranks right up there with books on finance and self help such as George S. Clason's the Richest Man in Babylon and Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. Put these principles to work and earn cash and then some extra cash. Get your self into gear and and earn money, with this book you can rewire your brain with the tested principles, this is money software for your mind. Who knows you may be inspired to make money writing from scratch or you may decide to sell used textbooks or even produce books on audio, the sky is the limit as Barnum teaches, shoot for the sun and you may hit a star.

Book Description
If, then, sound health is the foundation of success and happiness in life, how important it is that we should study the laws of health, which is but another expression for the laws of nature! The nearer we keep to the laws of nature, the nearer we are to good health, and yet how many persons there are who pay no attention to natural laws, but absolutely transgress them, even against their own natural inclination. We ought to know that the “sin of ignorance” is never winked at in regard to the violation of nature's laws; their infraction always brings the penalty. A child may thrust its finger into the flames without knowing it will burn, and so suffers, repentance, even, will not stop the smart. Many of our ancestors knew very little about the principle of ventilation. They did not know much about oxygen, whatever other “gin” they might have been acquainted with; and consequently they built their houses with little seven-by-nine feet bedrooms, and these good old pious Puritans would lock themselves up in one of these cells, say their prayers and go to bed. In the morning they would devoutly return thanks for the “preservation of their lives,” during the night, and nobody had better reason to be thankful. Probably some big crack in the window, or in the door, let in a little fresh air, and thus saved them.

A must have book in any success and wealth building library. P.T. Barnum one of the first "true" American millionaires having created his wealth from nothing. In this book you will learn the fundamentals of success and wealth that still apply to today even though written over 100 years ago. The most underestimated, influential, success and wealth builder of the 20th century and the greatest of the great entrepreneurs and international businessmen of the 20th and 21st Century, P.T. Barnum. If there is one thing everyone knows about Barnum, it is this, "There is a sucker born every minute." While P.T. Barnum didn't actually say this he is given the credit for the statement and Barnum took every opportunity to use it to his advantage giving himself even more notoriety and fame. The young Barnum born in 1810, knew at a young age he wanted to make a name for himself being involved with various entrepreneurial pursuits, he left home in 1830 to seek his fortune in New York City. He did create his wealth with his first big venture in 1841 with the purchase a museum in which he presented live acts and curiosities including General Tom Thumb. Barnum accomplished all he set out to do and became a success and a household name and left us with this undiscovered book teaching you and me The Art of Money Getting. Ironically written over a century ago the principles still apply to today in modern times and according to Kathy Mahr, Executive Director of The Barnum Museum, this book has even inspired Walt Disney. The Art of Money Getting or if you prefer The Golden Rules for Getting Money is one of the top three must have books in any success and wealth building library. This is a special edition of the original version of Barnum's 1880 classic.

Book Description
The Art of Money Getting, or Golden Rules for Making Money: Large Printby P. T. BarnumP. T. Barnum, the great American showman of the 19th century, wrote this short book about making and keeping money. He certainly had life experiences that qualify him for the subject--he started a small newspaper in his twenties, bought and transformed a museum into a showplace for curiosities, built a circus empire that gave performances in America and Europe, promoted a performing tour of a singer, fell into debt in the 1850s and pulled himself out by lecture tours, was a mayor, and founded a hospital.Excerpts:"Those who really desire to attain an independence, have only to set their minds upon it, and adopt the proper means, as they do in regard to any other object which they wish to accomplish, and the thing is easily done. But however easy it may be found to make money, I have no doubt many of my hearers will agree it is the most difficult thing in the world to keep it. ... True economy consists in always making the income exceed the out-go.""Unless a man enters upon the vocation intended for him by nature, and best suited to his peculiar genius, he cannot succeed. I am glad to believe that the majority of persons do find their right vocation. Yet we see many who have mistaken their calling..."
