Excerpt from Theatricals Two Comedies: Tenants Disengaged The situation presented in the first act of the first piece was directly, though long since, suggested by a short tale of the late Commandant Henri Riviere, a tale published some five-and - twenty years ago, if not more, in a single number of La Revue des Deux Alondes. The action of the play, which is a free translation of the subject of the story, greatly deviates, it must be ad mitted, from this original, though remaining distinctly indebted to it again for an incident in the third act.
