Book Description
This is a love story between a believer's heart and the great and loving heart of God. Journey with the author as God gradually wins her love and as He faithfully carries her through a long, dark valley of suffering to a place of peace, joy, and victory. Witness the powerful message of the cross at work in her life and find yourself drawn to the One who suffered and died on the cross for you.The background of this story offers a rare look at the inner workings of a controversial church in which the author was persecuted for her personal Christian beliefs. It depicts the gradual development of an environment of deception and provides insight into how people seeking God can be caught up in such groups. The lessons the author learned, the knowledge she gained about Christ and Him crucified, and the truth that set her free are invaluable. As God's purpose for her life begins to take shape and her tangled experiences begin to make sense, a beautiful part of God's masterpiece unfolds--one that God has skillfully and patiently crafted. You will realize that you, too, have a unique place and purpose in His universal tapestry, one He is waiting to show you.

Book Description
LONGLISTED FOR THE ALCS "GOLD DAGGER" AWARD FOR NON-FICTION CRIME WRITING Uncover the story behind the death of renowned diplomat and UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjöld in this true story of spies and intrigue surrounding one of the most enduring unsolved mysteries of the twentieth century. On September 17, 1961, Dag Hammarskjöld boarded a Douglas DC6 propeller plane on the sweltering tarmac of the airport in Leopoldville, the capital of the Congo. Hours later, he would be found dead in an African jungle with an ace of spades playing card placed on his body. Hammarskjöld had been the head of the United Nations for nine years. He was legendary for his dedication to peace on earth. But dark forces circled him: Powerful and connected groups from an array of nations and organizations—including the CIA, the KGB, underground militant groups, business tycoons, and others—were determined to see Hammarskjöld fail. A riveting work of investigative journalism based on never-before-seen evidence, recently revealed firsthand accounts, and groundbreaking new interviews, The Golden Thread reveals the truth behind one of the great murder mysteries of the Cold War.

Book Description
Excerpt from The Thread of Gold I Sate to-day, in a pleasant hour, at a place called The Seven Springs, high up in a green valley of the Cotswold hills. Close beside the road, seven clear rills ripple out into a small pool, and the air is musical with the sound of running water. Above me, in a little thicket, a full-fed thrush sent out one long-drawn cadence after another, in the joy of his heart, while the lengthening shadows of bush and tree crept softly over the pale sward of the old pasture-lands, in the westering light of the calm afternoon. These springs are the highest head-waters of the Thames, and that fact is stated in a somewhat stilted Latin hexameter carved on a stone of the wall beside the pool. The so-called Thames-head is in a meadow down below Cirencester, where a deliberate engine pumps up, from a hidden well, thousands of gallons a day of the purest water, which begins the service of man at once by helping to swell the scanty flow of the Thames and Severn Canal. But The Seven Springs are the highest hill-fount of Father Thames for all that, streaming as they do from the eastward ridge of the great oolite crest of the downs that overhang Cheltenham.
