Book Description
“Wealth without work Pleasure without conscience Science without humanity Knowledge without character Politics without principle Commerce without morality Worship without sacrifice. https://vidjambov.blogspot.com/2023/01/book-inventory-vladimir-djambov-talmach.html A summary of a book by the brotherhood of the “St. Great-martyr George Zographus“ monastery, Mount Athos – with the NINE ANGELIC RANKS (translated from Bulgarian). Plus a post The holy seven supreme angels, of whom Michael is the first, and Gabriel – the second, according to the pious interpretation of the Church were depicted as early as in Antiquity on icons and erected in their honor (Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Jehudiel and Barachiel) were temples (in Rome, Naples, Palermo, as well as Archangel cathedrals at Smolensk, Nizhni Novgorod, Staritsa, a monastery at Great Ustiug (early 13th Century), and a cathedral at Sviyazhsk ANOTATION from the brotherhood This book introduces us to the doctrine of the holy Orthodox Church for the honest Heavenly, bodiless Powers. It contains words by St. Demetrius of Rostov, as well as an Akathist the holy Archangel Michael (and a Canon of the Guardian Angel). Now, more than ever, we need to remind ourselves of our invisible protectors. The Akathist and the canon will help us properly address the holy angels, praise them and venerate them in an Orthodox manner, and use their prayer protection. Man has always felt the need for a higher, good and powerful being to keep it, to trust, and to worship. This Being is our Maker and Creator, God, glorified in the Trinity. Such protectors are also the Guardian Angel, the heavenly archistratigues Michael and Gabriel and the other Heavenly bodiless Powers that we venerated in an Orthodox manner. It is good to see here the difference between these and the modern superheroes such as 'Superman', 'Turboman', 'Robocop' and many others with whom the spirit of time wants to seduce people by offering them fake patrons instead of the actual ones – God, the Most Pure Mother of God, the Heavenly Powers, and the saints who are the true protectors of the soul, the real assistants of her earthly life and of the work of her eternal salvation.

The Testament of Solomon

The Testament of Solomon PDF Author: King Solomon
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781946774040
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 44

Book Description
This edition of the Testament of Solomon is a complete and accurate reprint of the original translation of ancient manuscripts by F.C. Conybeare first printed in 1898. It contains all Conybeare's original notes and commentary, including the Greek characters he footnoted for the reader's consideration. Beware of other editions of this work that do not contain all the original text. The Testament of Solomon is a pseudepigraphical work attributed to King Solomon the Wise of the Old Testament. Written in the first-person narrative, the book tells the story of the creation of the magical ring of King Solomon and how Solomon's ring was used to bind and control demons, including Beelzebub. In this book of King Solomon, the discourses between the King and the various spirits are told, and the story shows how Solomon uses his wisdom to withstand the demons' tricks and guile and enlist their aid in the building of his temple. The spells and seals of Solomon used by the King to bind the spirits are detailed, which makes this work a book of Solomon's magic, similar in nature to the Lesser Key of Solomon the King and the Greater Key of Solomon the King, which both are King Solomon books of magic and contain various talismans of Solomon, including the secret seal of Solomon. The manuscripts from which this work was discovered date from the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. All were written in Greek. This dating makes most experts believe that the work is medieval. But some scholars, including D.C. Duling, argue that it is likely that the work comes from the 5th or 6th centuries. The various manuscripts used to source the work all date to medieval times, but the text itself, as well as references to other works, indicate the Testament is much older. For example, in the Dialogue of Timothy and Aquila, there is a direct reference to the Testament of Solomon. The Dialogue purports to have been written during the Archbishopric of Cyril in 444 C.E., and therefore, its reference would date the Testament before that time. Similarly, in the early 4th century Gnostic text On the Origin of the World, references to the book of Solomon and his 49 demons are made. No matter the date, the text provides an immensely interesting description of how King Solomon tamed various demons to build his temple. The text includes predictions of the coming of Christ, as one demon explains to Solomon that while he may be bound, the only thing that can truly take his power away is the man born from a virgin who will be crucified by the Jews.

Book Description
BIOGRAPHERS have already told us much about St. Louis De Montfort and the Rosary; now, with this first English edition of THE SECRET OF THE ROSARY, we can listen to Montfort speaking for himself. Drawing upon his own experience as well as upon the experience of others, he endeavors to bring home to the reader, “in a simple and straightforward manner,” as he himself tells us, the authentic message of the Rosary; namely, that it is a veritable school of Christian life. He sees it as including essentially the meditation of the mysteries of the life, death and glory of Jesus and Mary, with a view not only to honoring but especially imitating their virtues as held up to our consideration in each mystery.
