Book Description
Thaddeus Golas is a lazy man. Laziness keeps him from believing that enlightenment demands effort, discipline, strict diet, non-smoking and other evidences of virtue. He found a way to enlighten himself - and you - with two sentences. The first is We are equal beings and the universe is our relations with each other. The second? The universe is made of one kind of entity; each one is alive, each determines the course of his own existence. If you remember this, that's all you really need to know to understand this book. Originally published in 1972, and in print for 15 years, THE LAZY MAN'S GUIDE TO ENLIGHTNMENT teaches you, amongst other things, how to feel good.

Book Description
Of "Love and Pain," his new book, American author Thaddeus Golas explained: "I wrote The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment in language that any reader of English could understand, making it as easy as possible. Now, in writing Love and Pain, I decided to state the case as clearly as I could without regard to a general audience, as though I was writing to a friend, someone like myself..."Thaddeus Golas, author of the metaphysical gem"The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment," opens Pandora's Box once again to lead us through an uncompromising blueprint of consciousness."Love and Pain" is Golas'most intense work as a writer, philosopher, and Cosmic Mapmaker. This book is a true spiritual tool for the honest reader in search of answers.Golas on Love and Pain: "Love and Pain is a necessary step beyond "The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment," and, perhaps a correction to it......More must now be said about our adventures in this reality on Earth. We need an explanation for the contrast between the blissful freedom of pure consciousness and the unwelcome pain and confusion of our human lives."

Improving Seed Conditioning

Improving Seed Conditioning PDF Author: Bill Gregg
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1315390450
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 444

Book Description
Seed conditioning is the final process that establishes the quality of a seed lot and determines its value. It is a complex process involving a significant series of machines, each of which must be used in the proper sequence of the entire process, and each machine must be carefully and properly adjusted and set up for each lot of seed. If the conditioning plant operator does not have sufficient knowledge of how to set up and adjust each of the machines, then an excessive amount of good seed is lost during conditioning and not all undesirable materials are removed. Therefore, the performance of seed conditioning depends entirely on how effectively the operator sets up and adjusts the machines. Much effort has been spent in developing seed technology so as to produce high quality seed, but performance of seed conditioning by maximizing the operator’s knowledge of getting the best performance from each of his machines has not been carefully and completely developed. Improving Seed Conditioning focuses on teaching the conditioning plant operator details of each machine and how to get maximum performance from it in terms of operating efficiency, maximum removal of undesirable particles, and minimum loss of good seed. Organized in a manner that focuses on the specific machine models installed in each operator’s specific plant, this manual is set up to be used as text material in training classes or as a guide for operators employed by seed companies.

The Prairie in Seed

The Prairie in Seed PDF Author: Dave Williams
Publisher: University of Iowa Press
ISBN: 1609384105
Category : Nature
Languages : en
Pages : 138

Book Description
The tallgrass prairie offers solutions to the many environmental challenges facing our water, soils, and ecosystems. Planting prairie on just 10 percent of a field can effectively remove excess phosphorous and nitrogen from the remaining 90 percent. Deep prairie roots and dense aboveground growth filter and hold soils, keeping them from eroding into our streams and rivers. Plants such as common milkweed are the key to the monarch butterfly’s recovery. In light of these benefits, perhaps our love affair with European turf grass is slowly giving way to an appreciation of the beauty of our original native prairie. As interest in these wildflowers and grasses has grown, so has demand for better resources to identify the hundreds of species that make up the native prairie. In The Prairie in Seed, Dave Williams shows us how to identify wildflowers when they are out of bloom and, in particular, how to harvest their seeds. Without the flower color and shape as guides, it can be difficult to identify prairie plants. Imagine trying to distinguish between a simple prairie sunflower and an ox-eye sunflower with no flowers to look at! In this richly illustrated guide, Williams offers dormant plant identification information, seed descriptions, and advice on seed harvesting and cleaning for seventy-three of the most common wildflowers found in the tallgrass prairie. He includes photographs and descriptions of the plants in bloom and in seed to assist in finding them when you are ready to harvest. Each species description explains where the seeds are located on the plant, when seed ripening begins, and how many seeds each species produces, along with a photograph and approximate measurements of the actual seed. Finally, this guide provides assistance on how and when to hand-harvest seeds for each species, as well as some simple tips on seed cleaning. An indispensable guide for anyone involved in prairie restoration or conservation, this book is the perfect complement to Williams’s The Tallgrass Prairie Center Guide to Seed and Seedling Identification in the Upper Midwest.
