Book Description
....So, at about the age of twelve, when most boys do what they are told NOT to do, B. J. went into the woods. From that day on his life was never the same. This is more than just another book. This is our son's secret journal that we found years after, ...well, years after he disappeared. These are his words. This is his story. The following was written on the first page of his journal, "As I start my story, I cannot tell you my name, or where I live, or anything that might disclose who I am. I can, however, tell you one thing; when I was a baby my grandpa called me B.J.". When our son was growing up none of the children were allowed to go into the woods behind our house. Two boys disappeared in the woods over ten years ago and were never found, not a trace. I think this is why B.J. had to go into the woods. He had to see for myself what was there. What he found was another world. It was a world that he writes about in his journal. He writes about an old lady called "Mowmow." He writes about his best friends LaCharles and Lizzy. He writes about a pond that is deep in the woods, and what he discovered on the other side of the pond. He writes about love, fear, death, and God. I left the pages of this book basically untouched; (so, you will find some misspelled words and incorrect grammar). However, I didn't want to change one word of what B.J. wrote. Every word is a clue as to what happened to him, or where he might be. When you finish reading his journal entries, maybe you will understand? Maybe you can help us find B.J.? The sketches in this book have been redrawn. However, the original sketches made by B.J. are in the "cold case file" in the basement of the Charlotte, North Carolina courthouse.

Book Description
Peter Van Woerden, Corrie Ten Boom’s nephew, began his career in the Dutch underground in 1942. He was the organist of the Reformed Church in Velsen and was at his regular post on the bench one Lord’s Day morning as he recounts: “On this particular Sunday, as I sat and mused, I suddenly realized that exactly two years before, on the 10th of May, the Nazi invasion of Holland had begun. As I looked over the congregation I decided that something should be done, something on this Sunday morning to demonstrate that we still were real Dutchmen at heart, something to express our faith and hope in a day of victory when we would again be a free people. The sermon over, I pulled extra stops out on the organ, then firmly and distinctly played the first chords of the Wilhelmus, the national anthem of the Netherlands. There was a rustling downstairs. People stood to their feet. One voice began to sing, then another, and others; and soon, like a mighty sea, the glorious old hymn rolled forth from the overflowing hearts of hundreds of Hollanders as tears streamed down their faces. For that one moment we were a free people in the midst of a dark world full of oppression and persecution.” That gesture landed Peter in prison where, in turn, he experienced, for the first time in his life, a deep hunger for God. After years in the church he met Christ and was truly converted. And thus an adventure in which Peter evaded the Nazis many months until the night he went to grandfather and Aunt Corrie.

Great Chapters of the Bible
Author: G. Campbell Morgan
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1725227460
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 380
Book Description
G. Campbell Morgan Reprint Series Foreword If it is true that the measure of a person's greatness is their influence, not only on his own time but on future gen- erations, G. Campbell Morgan must be regarded as a great person. His greatness is seen not only in the wide impact of his ministry on both sides of the Atlantic, but in the fact that his books are still read and studied sixty-five years after his death. Named one of the ten greatest preachers of the twentieth-century by the contributing board of Preaching magazine, Morgan made the Bible a new and living book not only to the congregations who listened to him, but the vast multitude of persons who read his books. Fox sixty-seven years Morgan preached and taught the Scriptures and served churches in England and the United States. What is remarkable is that his commentaries and expositions of the Bible still speak to persons of a new millennium. There have been many changes in the world since he faithfully preached and taught the Scriptures, but the wide appeal of his books testify to the timelessness of his message. Although he held pastorates in the Congregational and Presbyterian denominations, he had an ecumenical appeal to persons of all denominations and traditions. The mystic Thomas á Kempis once wrote, "He to whom the eternal word speaks is delivered from many opinions." In one of his sermons, he referred to the words of Amos that there would be a famine for hearing the word of God (Amos 8:11). The timeless work of G. Campbell Morgan addresses that hun- ger, as his books enable his readers to get beyond opinions to the living Word. Wipf and Stock Publishers have rendered a great gift to the religious world in reprinting dozens of Morgan's books. This growing collection makes his books more available, so that readers have an option other than searching the internet for used, and often expensive, copies. Among this collection is the classic The Great Physician and commen- taries on the Gospel of Matthew and John. Persons seeking a living faith and a meaningful encounter with God would profit from reading any of these Morgan books. Near the end of his ministry, in a sermon entitled "But One Thing," Morgan commented on how Portugal changed the words of a coin after Christopher Columbus discovered America. No longer did the inscription say, Ne Plus Ultra (nothing more beyond) but Plus Ultra (more beyond). It is the hope of the G. Campbell Morgan Trust that the reprint- ing of these books will bring readers to the "more beyond," and an even deeper encounter with the Word in Scripture. The Morgan Trust Richard L. When He Appears
Author: Ron Auch
Publisher: New Leaf Publishing Group
ISBN: 1614583919
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 133
Book Description
A study of the Song of Solomon, exploring how the romantic language is really symbolic of Christ and His bride, the Church, as it awaits a wonderful future in heaven. The message is really that, as the Bride, we the Church should be anxiously awaiting His soon return. There is a parallel here to the famous parable of the 10 virgins in Matthew 25; five were ready when the Groom arrived suddenly; five were not ready. Auch’s special insight into this difficult and often overlooked book will prove to be a rich vein of hope for the Church.
