As will be noted, most of the material has been gathered from "Dalcho's History of the Church in South Carolina," and other authorities. The anecdotes are merely from tradition, and only as such are they here presented. The story of those old days has always appealed to the writer "With love, far brought From out the storied past; and used Within the present."
