Excerpt from The Pennsylvania College Book, 1832-1882 It had been my intention to here acknowledge by name those to whom I am under special obligations for favors rendered during the preparation and publishing of this volume; but the list numbers so many hundred names that I must content myself by testifying that in the numerous inquiries for information on various points among pres ent and former students and friends of the institution, I have met with the greatest courtesy and willingness to give time and labor to the obtaining and communicating of the requested information.
