These traits must have a negative impact on the personal and social aspects of an individual's life to be classified as a personality disorder. Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD) is one such disorder. OCPD is generally defined as a preoccupation with the strict compliance of rigid guidelines and rules of behavior. It affects about 1 in every 100 people and is diagnosed twice as often in males as compared to females. OCPD usually becomes noticeable in early adulthood but it may be developed starting in early childhood to late adolescence.
