Book Description
Excerpt from The Norfolk Antiquarian Miscellany, Vol. 2 The following notes, which are little more than compilations, (chiefly from the invaluable pages of Notes and Queries) are printed in the hope that they may be of some use by pointing out to those interested in the above subjects what has already been printed about them and where it has been printed. I have not knowingly referred to any superstitions or sayings which are common to all England, but have tried to confine myself to those peculiar to Norfolk. Beginning with the traditions, there is a very inter esting paper (at p. 209 of vol i. Of the Norfolk and Norwich Archaeological Society's Original Papers), written by Sir Francis Palgrave, on the prophecies current in Norfolk about the time of Kett'e Rebellion.
