Crystal Pulling from the Melt

Crystal Pulling from the Melt PDF Author: Donald T.J. Hurle
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3642782086
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 156

Book Description
Crystal pulling is an industrial process and provides the bulk of semiconductor crystals for the semiconductor industry. Initially a purely empirical process, the increase in importance and size of the industry has led to basic research into the fundamentals of the process - particularly the modelling of heat and mass transfer. The book has been written by the recognized authority on Czochralski crystal-growth techniques. It is an attempt to strengthen the interface between the practical crystal grower and the applied mathematician involved in analytical and computer modelling. Its focus is on the physics, chemistry and metallurgy of the process. From reviews: "... There is a need for a modern, non-trivial text on Czochralski growth ... and Dr. Hurle is eminently suited to write such a text."; "Dr. Hurle is probably uniquely qualified to write a book on ... (the Czochralski) growth process. ... He has published a great deal of very substantial as well as innovative work in this area."

The Miracle Ball Method

The Miracle Ball Method PDF Author: Elaine Petrone
Publisher: Workman Publishing
ISBN: 0761128689
Category : Health & Fitness
Languages : en
Pages : 290

Book Description
Pain relief from head to toe. The Miracle Ball Method is a proven, effective healing kit, including two balls and a fully illustrated book of exercises and techniques for pain and stress relief. The Method. This revolutionary program uses controlled breathing, two squishy balls, and simple exercises of rolling and rotating to heal everything from a bad knee to a stressed-out back. The key is to let gravity do all the work. The Balls. Take two—they're small. Made out of a durable, yielding, nontoxic PVC, the balls are sized to tuck under strategic parts of your body, including back, neck, head, knees, hip, and elbow. Like magnets, they draw out pain and tension. Elaine Petrone. After suffering a career-ending, potentially crippling injury to her back and right leg, a young dancer named Elaine Petrone turned to everyone from orthopedists to yogis to heal her injuries. Nothing worked—until she developed her own program of therapy. Elaine's simple program and the classes she teaches in the Miracle Ball Method have helped thousands of people conquer pain, stress, and injury.

Detection of Melt Ponds on Arctic Sea Ice with Optical Satellite Data

Detection of Melt Ponds on Arctic Sea Ice with Optical Satellite Data PDF Author: Anja Rösel
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3642370330
Category : Law
Languages : en
Pages : 120

Book Description
The Arctic sea ice is characterized by profound changes caused by surface melting processes and the formation of melt ponds in summer. Melt ponds contribute to the ice-albedo feedback as they reduce the surface albedo of sea ice, and hence accelerate the decay of Arctic sea ice. To quantify the melting of the entire Arctic sea ice, satellite based observations are necessary. Due to different spectral properties of snow, ice, and water, theoretically, multi-spectral optical sensors are necessary for the analysis of these distinct surface types. This study demonstrates the potential of optical sensors to detect melt ponds on Arctic sea ice. For the first time, an Arctic-wide, multi-annual melt pond data set for the years 2000-2011 has been created and analyzed.

A Review: Chill-Block Melt Spin Technique, Theories & Applications

A Review: Chill-Block Melt Spin Technique, Theories & Applications PDF Author: Mustafa Kamal
Publisher: Bentham Science Publishers
ISBN: 160805151X
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 192

Book Description
Rapid Solidification Processing of molten metals and alloys has proved to be a reliable route for producing new and advanced materials. The Chill-Block Melt Spin (CBMS) technique is important because its simplicity, flexibility and perfection. High quality materials can be produced with lower costs, as compared to other routes, by refining the microstructure and trapping the nucleated (new) metastable phases. Melt-spun ribbons subsequently produced can then be consolidated to produce billets and sheets that can be used in many industries especially high-tech industries such as aerospace and racing automobiles. This book contains several perspectives about CBMS technology and should be a useful review for undergraduate and post-graduate metallurgy students.

MELT

MELT PDF Author: Samul Verma
Publisher: Notion Press
ISBN: 1647835542
Category : Self-Help
Languages : en
Pages : 86

Book Description
Honesty is a simple tool that is known to everyone, but not experimented many times. However, if we start experimenting the same, challenges and complexities at the leadership positions are simplified, and we have a cohesive, pleasant and efficient environment at the workplace. Once we as leaders come out of the overburden of personal ambition, the puzzle of complex relations between leaders and team members start getting solved effortlessly. The team members begin to enjoy their work and goals are achieved without stress. Learning through experiences and experiments is an amazing process where we see the results first and form the principles in line with the same. Any real-life situation could be an opportunity to learn, and it becomes more fruitful if we start experimenting on those learnings. MELT is an attempt to look at the subject of leadership and teamwork through a different perspective. The idea is to inspire the readers to learn through observations and experiment with the learnings.
