Book Description
Excerpt from The Legal Subjection of Men I have been usually credited with being the chief author of the following brochure. Such, however, is not the case. "The Legal Subjection of Men" is in great part the work of an Irish barrister and LL.D. of Dublin, who died a few years ago. That portions here and there are from my pen is true, but for the bulk of the pamphlet I am not directly responsible, as any expert in literary style will probably detect. I mention the circumstance in writing the few words of preface for the new edition asked of me by the publishers, not with a view to any disclaimer, but simply in the interests of literary truth and accuracy. For though, as stated, only myself directly responsible for short sections, I none the less, in the main, heartily endorse the whole. The present edition has been carefully corrected and the Law brought up to date, though the illustrative cases necessarily remain as in the original edition. The Subjection of Women

The Subjection of Women PDF Author: John Stuart Mill

Pages : 198

Book Description
The object of this essay is to explain as clearly as I am able, the grounds of an opinion which I have held from the very earliest period when I had formed any opinions at all on social or political matters, and which, instead of being weakened or modified, has been constantly growing stronger by the progress of reflection and the experience of life: That the principle which regulates the existing social relations between the two sexes- the legal subordination of one sex to the other- is wrong in itself, and now one of the chief hindrances to human improvement ; and that is ought to be replaced by a principle of perfect equality, admitting no power or privilege on the one side, nor disability on the other.

Classics of Men's Rights: Shaw Alphabet Edition PDF Author: Tim Browne
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 0991819330
Category : Law
Languages : en
Pages : 223

Book Description
According to the feminist movement, we're currently living in an "oppressive patriarchy" which keeps women down and benefits men. What if this story that we've been told repeatedly over the past 50 years isn't true? What if, instead of being oppressed, women are actually part of a privileged class and have been for centuries? In this book, you'll find many current and historical examples. You'll read about the suffragettes who attempted to burn down the theatre at Dublin and were sentenced to the "hard labour" of... knitting, and the lady who walked after she murdered her husband and child by setting them on fire, then gained the mercy of the court with the claim that she was "a childless widow, all alone in the world"! Now, for the first time ever, you can read about the struggle for gender equality as never before... not only from the man's point of view, but also in 100%%%% phonetic English.
