The Molecular Absorption Spectrum of Methyl Alcohol in the 1.25 Cm. Region

Book Description
"A double modulation system was used to detect molecular absorption lines in the 1.25 cm region. A pip, with a repetition rate of 55 kc, was used for the r.f. modulation in place of a sine wave, resulting in increased sensitivity. Thirty-four lines of methyl alcohol, twenty-five of which had not been reported previously, were measured. These were found to be equally spaced and were grouped into three series. Twenty-nine lines due to a mixture of methyl alcohol and water were measured. These were also equally spaced and were grouped into two series. The arguments in favour of attributing the spectra to pairs of molecules, joined by "hydrogen bonding", were advanced. " --

Microwave, Infrared, and Laser Transitions of Methanol Atlas of Assigned Lines from 0 to 1258 cm-1
Author: Giovanni Moruzzi
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1351083104
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 544
Book Description
This unique atlas presents the recorded spectrum of CH3OH, the main isotopic species of methanol, in the range 28-1258 cm-1. The spectral plot is accompanied by a list of all currently assigned rotation-torsion-vibration lines in the absorption spectrum of methanol. The list of nearly 35,000 transitions spans all of the known microwave transitions, as well as the region of coincidence with CO2 laser emissions.
