(most of the stocks at the beginning of the present crop year were owned by CCC.) Stocks will be substantially below the levels of the two previous years, despite-the record production in prospect. The decline would be the first major reduction of the postwar period, but total stocks, including butter, at the beginning of 195 5-56 still will be considerably larger than in any year prior to l953-5h.
