H E R E is an excellent and most wife order and con1 nection in all that God I brings to pass and this I order so settled and join'd j DEGREEStgif together, that it can never be broken. The salvation of any of the children of sallen Adam, takes its rise in the eternal counsel, free purpose, and electing love of God. Whom he he did fart-knew, and personally chuie to salvation, them he did predestinate to all the means which lead to that salvation. That which first follows predestination is efftUual calling: Whom he did predestinate, says the text, them he also called. Upon this ensues their justification: Whom he called, them he also justified. Being united to Christ in their effectual calling, they are thro' him absolv'd from guilt, and accepted as righteous. Now, after their calling, they are in Christ Jesus, t and walk not after the fitfii but after the spirit, and so no condemnation belongs to them. Upon these will finally follow their glorification in heaven, after they have glorified God on earth j in which God's design of love to them, will have its full and eternal accomplishment; Whom he justified, them he also glorified. Book Description
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century. ++++ The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title.
